Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this gorgeous 1965 Cadillac Eldorado convertible
for sale.  This car is in nice driver condition, rides like a dream, and needs nothing at all to be enjoyed.  The paint looks great, has a dazzling shine, and the interior looks fabulous.  This car rolled off the assembly line during the fourth week of February in 1965 loaded with options such as air conditioning, automatic climate control, cruise control, power door locks, "Soft Ray" glass, AM/FM Radio, power seat, leather upholstery, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows and power vent windows, and twilight sentinel.

As a side note, this Eldorado is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our cars come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to examine each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Cadillac, just give us a call.

about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette and Cadillac specialist and a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1957 to 1982 Corvettes and 1953 to 1976 Cadillacs.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette or Cadillac.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

Exterior

The red exterior is in nice driver condition.  As one can see from the photos the paint has a fine finish and a great luster.  The convertible top is in good condition with no rips or holes.  The power feature of the convertible top also works well with no strain or binding in the mechanism.  The chrome, stainless, and other bright work is in excellent condition with no rust or pitting.  The center of the front bumper, visible in the photos, is slightly different.  This Cadillac still features its original hubcaps.  The tires appear to have about 90% tread left.  There are some light scratches, small spots, and other blemishes around the car that were too faint to show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from five to ten feet away.  The lower right headlight is slightly misaligned.  There is scratch on the drivers door that has been touched up and a specific photo of the area below.  Please note that the car still has correct convertible top glass.  It was not replaced with a cheaper plastic window when the top was replaced.  The convertible top boot is also included.

Window Date Codes

Windshield: XJ - The "X" denotes February and "J" 1965 so the rear windshield was made in February of 1965.

Driver's Front: NJ - The "G" denotes January and "J" 1965 so the front driver's side window was made in January of 1965.

Driver's Rear: XJ - The "X" denotes February and "J" 1965 so the rear driver's side window was made in February of 1965.

Driver's Vent: VG - The "V" denotes December and the second "G" 1964 so the driver's side vent window was made in December of 1964.

Passenger's Front: NJ - The "N" denotes January and "J" 1965 so the front passenger's side window was made in January of 1965.

Passenger's Rear: CG - The "C" denotes November and "G" 1964 so the rear passenger's side window was made in November of 1964.

Passenger's Vent: VG - The "V" denotes December and the second "G" 1964 so the passenger's side vent window was made in December of 1964.

All of the glass on this car is original and correct as all pieces predate the car's body build date of February 1965.  Original glass is a good indication that the car has not been in a major accident and never sustained significant damage.

Interior

The Black Leather interior of this Eldorado is in terrific condition.  The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with no holes or excessive wear.  This includes the front and rear seats.  The carpet is in great condition as well with no holes or rips.  The door panels are in very nice shape and unlike many cars of this age, they fit very well and tight to the door.  The arm pads on the door panels are not cracked or split, which is a very common problem on this era Cadillac, especially the convertibles.  The wood grain looks great.  The power seat works for the most part, but is slow and could probable stand some lubrication.  The original radio clicks on, lights up, and crackles, but does not play sound.  The original power antenna still works and operates properly from the radio. This Cadillac has never been smoked in, there are no burn marks or aroma at all.

Mechanical

This car is in nice mechanical condition.  There are no issues with the drivability of this Cadillac.  The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  The car drives great with no strange noises or vibrations.  The car is smooth on the road and highway.  The transmission shifts well throughout the power band.  The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other.  This Cadillac now features an electric fuel pump and electronic ignition.  This car is a great cruiser, but is obviously not perfect.  It has a few issues such as some of the options and accessories that do not work, the driver's vent windows motor runs, but the window does not open all the way, the cruse control is not functional, the a/c does not work and probably needs a charge, leaks, and other miscellaneous problems that do not immediately affect the drivability of the car.  All of the gauges work, but I think the fuel gauge might be a bit inaccurate.  With everything said, the combination of power from the 429ci V8 and the silky smooth ride make this Cadillac and absolute pleasure to drive, especially with top down on a sunny day.

Overall
Condition

This Cadillac is in great condition.  With only 2,125 Eldorado Convertibles made in 1965 this is an excellent opportunity to purchase a very rare car; these cars do not come up for sale often.  Convertible Cadillac’s are highly collectible and make excellent cars to drive.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price.  We, as always, would encourage you to take the time to view the car in person if possible.  We have nothing to hide, that is why we include so many photos.  If there is anything unclear or if you have any questions please feel free email or call.

Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
