Seven Hills Motorcars is extremely proud to offer this 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible
for sale.  This car is very clean, looks great, and is a nice driver.  The very attractive and desirable color scheme of Cotillion White over a 2-tone interior of White Leather seats and Firethorn Red carpet is original to the car.  This is verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured below.  This Cadillac rolled off the assembly line during the first week of January 1976 loaded with options such as tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a/c, dual comfort 50/50 divided front seats, twilight sentinel, cruise control, outside thermometer, and remote control right mirror.

Cadillac's marketing department called the 1976 Eldorado, "The last of a magnificent Breed,"  with the distinction of being the final American convertible of its era.  The high build cost of creating these large specialized convertibles was becoming a large financial drain on Cadillac.  Weighing in at a staggering 5,153 pounds and sporting a 500 cubic inch engine on its massive 224.1 inch frame, it was one of the largest production cars ever offered.

As a side note, this Eldorado is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our cars come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to examine each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Cadillac, just give us a call.

about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette and Cadillac specialist and a licensed and registered auto dealer with the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 2004 Corvettes and 1953 to 1976 Cadillacs.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette or Cadillac.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

Exterior

The Cotillion White exterior paint is in great condition.  The finish has suburb gloss and a smooth glass-like finish.  The fiberglass fillers between the bumper and body are notoriously bad on this era of Cadillac, luckily the fillers on this car have already been addressed and are not brittle at all.  There are no major scratches, scrapes, or blemishes in the paint that have been excluded from the photos.  There are some spots in the paint that around the car were too small to show in in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from five or ten feet away.  The body has no real dents or dings and is pretty straight.  The chrome, stainless, and other bright work on the car is in very nice shape with no notable rust.  The convertible top is in adequate shape with no holes.  The rear window is perfectly clear with no yellowing or fogging.  This Cadillac would benefit from some new weather-stripping.  The tires appear to have about 80% tread left.

This car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Window Date Codes

Driver's Front: CI - The "C" denotes November and "I" 1975 so the front driver's side window was made in November of 1975.

Driver's Rear: VI - The "V" denotes October and "I" 1975 so the front passenger's side window was made in October of 1975.

Passenger's Front: VI - The "V" denotes October and "I" 1975 so the front passenger's side window was made in October of 1975.

Passenger's Rear: VI - The "V" denotes October and "I" 1975 so the front passenger's side window was made in October of 1975.

All of the side glass on this car is original and correct as all pieces predate the car's body build date of the first week of January 1976. Original glass is a great indication that this car has no major accident history.

Interior

The two-tone interior in this Cadillac is also in nice shape for a driver.  The seats look in person just as they do in the photos.  They do have some surface cracking and a repair, but look good for a convertible with this mileage.  The carpet is in excellent condition throughout the car with no holes or stains.  The dash is not split or sun faded at all.  The door panels appear to have been recovered and are in great condition with no splits or cracks on the padding or armrests, which is a very common problem on these Cadillacs, especially the convertibles.  The power seats are not fully functional and the seat belts can be a bit awkward to use.

Mechanical

This car is in decent mechanical condition.  There are no issues that immediately the drivability of this Cadillac.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  The car drives well with no strange noises or vibrations.  The car is smooth on the road and highway.  The transmission shifts well throughout the power band, but there is some slack in the shifter.  The future owner may want to do a tune up on the car to smooth out the idle.  The idle isn't that bad or rough, it just isn't what I would consider "Cadillac smooth."  The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other.  There are some items on the car that do not work such as the cruise control, horn, climate control, and other small items.  Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a nice day.

Overall
Condition

This Cadillac is in great condition.  The pictures reflect how the car really looks in person.  Convertible Cadillac’s are highly collectible and make excellent cars to drive.  1976 was a very special year for Cadillac as it was the last convertible of the era and the bicentennial year.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price.  You can fit your entire family in the vehicle to take them out for the day or evening.    We, as always, would encourage you to take the time to view the car in person if possible.  We have nothing to hide, that is why we include so many photos.  If there is anything unclear or if you have any questions or concerns please email or call.

Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
