about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist.   With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 2004 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  Seven Hills Motorcars is a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this low mileage, numbers matching 1965 Corvette Convertible. The previous owner had the car for 11 years, since May of 1997.  He was a hardcore enthusiast with more than on Corvette in his collection.  He believed the car came new from Howe Motor Co. in Middletown, Ohio, about an hour north of Cincinnati, OH.  This is supported by some of the service records that accompany the car.  The Corvette has just over 84,000 original miles since new.  It comes with some of the most desirable options available for 1965.  Some of these include the factory side pipes, Teakwood steering wheel, and factory aluminum knock off wheels.

This year, the car has undergone a frame on restoration just completed at the beginning of the summer.  The entire car was professionally gone through, freshened up, and received a top quality paintjob.  All of the work was NOT done in preparation for a sale so please do not think the car was hastily prepared just to be sold or any corners were cut.  The previous owner decided to sell his business, retire down south, and downsize.  Unfortunately he could not bring all of his vehicles with him.  All of the work was done by one of the most reputable Corvette restorers in the Midwest.  In fact, this year he received Bloomington Gold for a car on which he completed a total frame off restoration, the first 1957 Airbox Fuelie Corvette produced by GM.

1965 was a historic year for Mid-years and Corvettes as a whole.  The most significant refinement was the addition of standard 4 wheel disc brakes.  This was a drastic improvement over braking systems in all years before beloved by magazine testers and racers alike.  This truly brought Corvettes into the realm of the world class sports car with such makes as Jaguar Shelby.  Other changes to the 1965 model year included a restyling of the front side louvers to three vertical slots, functional for brake cooling.  Also, the hood was redesigned to a more sleek design with no cut outs or bulky trim.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  I hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our cars come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care as they did.  Please take the time to examine each picture I have provided.  I photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about bidding.  I welcome you to inspect the car in person.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give me a call.

condition

Exterior

The Rally Red exterior paint is in virtually perfect condition. The paint on this car has not seen 500 miles of use.  The paintís finish is excellent with a high gloss.  There are no major paint defects what so ever.  All of the gaps between the body panels are consistent and probably look better now than when the car was new.  The tires look almost brand new.  They are Michelin Radials which are a radical improvement over bias ply tires in terms of drivability.  The aluminum wheels are in excellent condition with absolutely no defects or curb rash.  All of the bright work and chrome is in very nice condition.  The soft top is in excellent condition for being original.  The rear window has not yellowed or fogged up at all.  It is a great indicator of the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life.  There frame and everything else on the car is very solid.  There are absolutely no rust issues with the car what so ever.  The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The black interior of this Corvette is in superb condition.  The seats look great and are not split or torn at all.  The seat is not worn through in the typical places, such as where the driver gets in and out of the car.  The carpet is in excellent condition and looks nearly brand new.  This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.  There are no stains, rips, or holes in the carpet at all.  The door panels appear to be original and in terrific condition.  The dash looks awesome, with no splitting or any kind of sun damage.  Even the seat belt retractors are present and totally functional.  All functions of the radio work well including reception, volume, tuning, and even the "Tone" adjustment.  The factory power antenna works as well.

Mechanical

This car is in extraordinary mechanical condition, there are no issues at all with this Corvette.  Absolutely everything on this car works as it should, the finicky electric headlights go up and down, with the exception of the clock, which works part time, all of the gauges work perfectly, all of the interior and exterior lights work.  There are service records from the previous owners included with the car dating back to 1979.  The records indicate the engine was rebuilt when the car had 78,000 miles.  The car starts right away every time.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.  The motor is 327 cubic inch L75 engine with 300 horsepower.  The transmission is solid and the car shifts very tightly.  The clutch feels very good.  The car drives flawlessly, and brakes straight.  It is very tight on the road and at highway speeds.  The car emits a very distinctive and awe-inspiring sound from the sidepipes with the top down.  Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.  I have personally driven this car all summer with absolutely no issues at all.

Overall Condition

Overall the vehicle is in gorgeous condition.  The previous owner was meticulous about his caring for the vehicle.  The originally and condition of this vehicle is very difficult to match.  Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, and as you can see this car very original and correct.  The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in the past 10 years.  They are all solid investments for a collector.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price.  Mid year Corvettes are, and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation.  Thank you for looking and have a nice day.  Please call or email with any questions.
