vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this spectacular, completely numbers matching, 1965 Corvette in beautiful condition with only 81,570 original miles. It looks greats, runs great, and is an nice driver that is ready to be enjoyed. This Corvette is priced to sell, always turns heads, and gets a TON of attention going down the road. The car is finished in the beautiful color combination of Milano Maroon over Maroon. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag pictured below. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and correct this Corvette really is.

We purchased this Corvette from a well know prominent Corvette enthusiast in Michigan. He said that he had purchased the car from the previous long term owner in Kentucky who had owned the car for over 30 years. Being a southern car the frame is completely rust free and there are no rust issues at all.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

model description

1965 was a historic year for mid-years and Corvettes as a whole. The most significant refinement was the addition of standard 4 wheel disc brakes. This was a drastic improvement over braking systems in all years before beloved by magazine testers and racers alike. This truly brought Corvettes into the realm of the world class sports car with such makes as Jaguar Shelby. Other changes to the 1965 model year included a restyling of the front side louvers to three vertical slots, functional for brake cooling. Also, the hood was redesigned to a more sleek design with no cut outs or bulky trim.

numbers

Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly.

condition

Exterior

The Milano Maroon exterior is in fantastic driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finished. The chrome bumpers and other bight work on the car looks wonderful with a brilliant finish and no rust or pitting. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car exhibits good body panel fit overall. The wheels are in excellent condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The wheels are in the same style as the 1967 Corvette "Bolt On" wheels and are a beautiful compliment to the look of the car. The BF Goodrich tires have about 90% tread left. There are some small blemishes in the paint around the car and others that are too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. The frame and everything else on the car is completely solid. I encourage you to closely inspect the many underside photos to see how truly clean the car is. There are absolutely no rust issues with the car what so ever.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL the glass on this car, the door glass, rear glass, both vent windows, and even windshield are date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of May 25, 1965 (J25). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

This Corvette looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Maroon interior of the Corvette is in outstanding condition. The seats look lovely with no holes, splits, or excessive wear. They are not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in great condition with no stains. There is a small amount of wear on the rear carpet by the wheel well. The chrome and other brightwork inside the car has a terrific finish and looks great overall. The dash and console are in nice condition with no fading or sun damage. The gauge faces are nice and clean and the lenses are crisp and clear. The radio sounds great and is a Corvette specific unit made to fit this car so most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified. Even the power antenna works as one can see in the video. The door panels are in excellent condition, fit to the door well, the door pulls are solid, and there no cracks on the arm pad. The jack and jack handle are pictured below stowed in the storage compartment behind the seats. Corvette interiors are not known the wear well and the excellent condition of this interior with so many years on it is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout it's life.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. The car is an awesome driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can see the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting thought all the gears, braking to stoplight, accelerating away, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts properly, there are no strange vibrations, and the car performs quite well overall. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well and does not pop out of gear. The clutch feels good. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, power antenna, and parking brake. Both headlights go up and down properly and with no binding the mechanism, which is a very common problem on this era Corvette. Their complete operation can be viewed in the video below. Even the "light" indictor on the dash works correctly when you turn the lights on without raising them. The blower for the heater works on all setting. Also, the vent selector works properly and blows air from defroster and heater vents correctly. The only item on the car we have noticed that is not working is the wipers. The dash lights work as one can see in the video. There is a little wind noise noticeable in the video when the car is driving at highway speed. This Corvette and has been lovingly cared for over the years. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a beautiful day.

Overall
Condition

Overall, this 1965 Corvette is in excellent driver condition. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see above this car is very original and correct. We have this Corvette priced to sell. Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are, and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation. Of the mid-years the 1965-67 models always draw a premium and drive so much better due the the 4 wheel disk brakes. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. While this is not a Bloomington Gold or NCRS Top Flight restoration, it is a very high quality driver that is very correct and ready to be enjoyed. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
