vehicle description
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this gorgeous
1969 Corvette in excellent condition with A/C, which actually blows
cold, power steering, power
brakes, automatic transmission, and T-tops with the pop-out rear
window. This car looks great, runs great, and is an awesome
driver with absolutely no rust issues. It is optioned with the iconic and desirable color
combination of Monza Red over Black. This is the original and
correct color scheme as verified by the trim tag, which is pictured
below. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an
excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an
unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell
it for more than the purchase price with minimal work and effort.
It gets a ton of attention going down the road
and turns heads everywhere it goes.
Please peruse all of the photos and information below to get a true sense
of how exceptionally nice and clean this Corvette really is.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
condition
Exterior
The Monza
Red exterior is in
nice driver condition. As one can see in the
photos the
finish has fine gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The wheels
are in excellent condition with no curb rash on the beauty
rings.
Often many
Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not.
There are
no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded
from the photos. There are some small imperfections
around the car that were too faint to show up in photos,
but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away.
There is some crazing and
very light crackling on the surface of the paint in
certain areas visible in certain light from just the
right angle, specifically on the rear deck. I
attempted to take particular photos to show this, but it
is not always apparent and hard to capture.
The chrome
bumpers and other bight work on the car look good
overall with no major rust or pitting, the rear
bumpers are a bit cloudy, which is evident in the
photos.
As one can see in the photos of the underside of the car,
this Corvette has absolutely NO rust issues.
The frame is totally solid with no rust in front of the
rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion
around the windshield, which are the most notorious
areas for rust on a C3 Corvette.
Window Date Codes
Driver: YV -
"Y" denotes
October
and "V" denotes 1969 meaning the driver's side window was made
in October of 1969.
Passenger: YV -
"Y" denotes
October and "V" denotes 1969 meaning the passenger's side
window was made in October of 1969.
Rear: YV -
"Y" denotes
October and "V" denotes 1969 meaning the rear window was made in
October of 1969.
Please note that
the "Astro Ventilation" door glass, and even the pop out rear
window, are date coded and original as each piece predates the
car's body build date of November 22, 1969 (P22). Original glass
is a good indication that this car has had no major accident
history and
never sustained significant damage.
Interior
The black interior of the Corvette looks
very nice.
The seats look in person just as they do
in the photos with no
rips or splits seams.
They are not worn
through in the typical areas such as where the driver gets in and out.
Please note that these
appear the original seats, not some cheap aftermarket covers or
replacements,
though the foam
has started to dry out, which is very common.
The carpet is in excellent condition
with no tears,
holes, or stains.
This included the rear carpet which is often neglected.
The
dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or sun fading.
The original radio
is still installed in the car and actually gets decent reception. The door panels
look great with no cracks or splits on the arm pads, which is a
very common problem on this era Corvette.
This car has not been smoked in and there is no aroma whatsoever.
Corvette
interiors are not known to wear well and the good condition
of this interior
is a testament to
the excellent care this car has received throughout its life.
Mechanical
This car is in seems to be in
very good mechanical condition and everything on the car works.
It is an exceptional driver that feels great
on the road and at highway speeds.
It starts right
away every time, idles well, and runs well. The car shifts
well throughout the power band.
The brakes are
responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. Also, the engine compartment is clean and
nicely detailed as one can see in the photos. The
is no smoke when driving the car. After it has been
sitting for a long period it will smoke a bit when it is first
started. It goes away quickly once you start driving so
this isn't an internal problem with the engine or anything major
like that, just some guide seals, which are easily serviceable. The
horn works as do all the exterior lights, all
gauges (with
the obvious exception of the clock),
wipers, blower on all speeds, and even the a/c.
The vacuum
system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly with no
binding. As with most 1968-71 Corvettes the fiber optic
light monitoring system is not totally functional.
This
Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.
Not
enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive
this car, especially with the t-tops
out on a beautiful day.
A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system.
We consistently receive many questions about the purpose
of this system; exactly what it is and what it does.
The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light
monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the
exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights,
etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a a
burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the
car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an
indicator on the center console. There are nine
small indicators on the console and each has its own
finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light
travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates
the corresponding indicator on the console. If
someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the
lamp housing, does any work to the center console, or if
there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the
cable, that indicator no longer works. As one can
image, over time this is very common.
The system is very fragile and almost every driver
quality Corvette we receive from 1968 through 1971
has at least some of the fiber optics that are no longer
functional. The system was so temperamental and
unnecessary that it was only used on Corvettes from
1968-1971 and was deleted by Chevrolet for the Corvette
in 1972.
Overall
Condition
Overall, this 1969 Corvette is in
excellent driver condition. It is a great value and we have priced
it to sell. In my opinion and based on
our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the
most collectible in the entire Corvette market right now.
Of those years, the 1969 and 1972 are the most desirable.
The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent
years. They are all solid investments for a
collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of
the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for
several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with
minimal effort.
