about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist.   We are a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 2004 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this, rarely optioned, totally numbers matching 1972 Corvette Convertible with original a/c that actually still works
.  This Corvette is an awesome driver that is essentially 100% "turn key" needing absolutely nothing.  The car is in it's beautiful original color scheme of Elkhart Green (946) over Medium Saddle Leather (421) interior as indicated by the trim pad, which is pictured below.  I purchased this Corvette from a well know collector in Lexington, KY.  This car was one of many vintage Corvettes in his stable that all received top notch care.  During his ownership the entire interior and convertible top were refurbished with the highest quality parts from the best name in Corvette interiors, Al Knoch.  The best attribute about this car is how great it drives.  The Corvette is extremely usable and I wouldn't hesitate to take the car on a long road trip.  In fact last year, before the weather turned cold, I used this car personally on two separate road trips of 4 hours each with no issues or problems at all.  Please take the time to examine each photograph we have provided.

The 1972 Corvette was truly the end of an era.  1972 was the last year to feature chrome bumpers and and "egg crate" grill, it is considered to be the last year of truly classic Corvettes.  This model year is widely considered to be the best out of the entire C3 generation.  Years after were more at the mercy of insurance companies, fuel prices, and emission concerns, 1972 is considered the last true "vintage" Corvette.  It was also the last year to feature a pop out rear window on the coupe, and the first year that the way horsepower ratings are measured changed from gross to the more accurate net.  As in investment, the 1972 will always have an advantage and out perform other years because of its precedence as the end of a a very great period for Corvette and muscle cars as a whole.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our cars come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to examine each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about bidding.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Elkhart Green metallic paintjob is in very presentable driver condition.  The chrome and stainless bright work is in nice shape.  The convertible top is in great condition and the rear window has not fogged or yellowed at all.  The tires look almost brand new.  There are some spots and bubbles in the paint around the car that were too small to show up in photos, but no major blemishes have been excluded.  The worst spots are visible in the photos on the top of the right fender/near the right headlight and just in front of the hood where the original rivets are visible as small pattern.  This was actually done intentionally by the previous owner who had the car painted because according to him it is original and shows the front end to be in good shape.

This car still retains all of its original glass.  Both side windows and the windshield are dated "AN" or September of 1971, which is correct as it predates the build date of the car.  Original glass is a good indication that the car has not been in a major accident and never sustained significant damage.

Interior

The Saddle Leather interior of the corvette is in superb condition.  This car is an original medium Saddle Leather car as indicated by the trim pad number, 421.  The entire interior was freshened within the past couple years with the highest quality parts from Al Knoch.  The seats look great and show minimal wear with absolutely no splits, tears, or stains.  The carpet is in excellent condition and looks virtually brand new.  There are no rips, holes, or damage in the carpet at all.  This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.  The door panels are in great condition and unlike many Corvettes of this age, they fit very well and tight to the door.  The dash and center consol look nice with sun fading.  The stock radio works and plays, but gets poor reception.  Like almost all Corvettes from this era, the clock does not work.

Mechanical

This Corvette drives awesome.  The way this car feels on the road it one of its best attributes.  This car is virtually 100% turn key and needs nothing.  It starts up quickly, runs well, and idles well.  This Corvette has plenty of power; it is very fast.  The transmission is a three speed automatic.  The car shifts smoothly through the engine’s power band.  The brakes are powerful, stop well, and do not pull.  The headlights and wiper door pop up quickly with no effort or binding what so ever.  The pull down vacuum switches for the headlights and wiper door work as well.  All of the interior and exterior lights work.  Even the a/c works and blows cold, although the blower motor makes some noise.  It is tight on the road and at highway speeds.  I cannot emphasize enough what a pleasure it is to drive this car especially with the top down on a nice day.

Overall
Condition

Overall the vehicle is in splendid driver condition.  The previous owner was meticulous about his caring for the vehicle.  Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, and as you can see this car very original and correct.  The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in the past 10 years.  The "Chrome Bumper" years have not had the detrimental over inflation that the mid year Corvettes have suffered from recently.  They are all solid investments for a collector.  Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price.  Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
