about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist and a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1957 to 1982 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this 1972 Corvette Coupe that is a great driver and priced to sell.  This is one of the best values for not just a '72 Corvette, but any "chrome bumper" coupe on the market right now.  The car looks great, runs well, and is a ton of fun, especially with the 4-speed.  One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than your purchase price with minimal work and effort.  Please peruse all of the photos below to get a true sense of this Corvette.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The red exterior is in nice driver condition.  As one can see in the photos, the paint has nice gloss, good shine, and smooth finish.  The chrome bumpers and other brightwork on the car show well for the most part with no major rust or pitting.  Often many Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos.  There are some small blemishes that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away.  This car does have some rust.  There is one bubble on the passenger door.  It is not very noticeable and I have included a specific photo of the area below.  The tires appear to have about 70% tread left.  The wheels are in good condition with a nice finish and no curb rash on the beauty rings.

Window Date Codes

Driver: IN - "I" denotes June and "N" denotes 1971 meaning the driver's side window was made in June of 1971.

Passenger: IN -
"I" denotes June and "N" denotes 1971 meaning the passenger's side window was made in June of 1971.

Rear: JN -
"J" denotes May and "N" denotes 1971 meaning the rear window was made in May of 1971.

Please note that the "Astro Ventilation" door glass, and even the pop out rear window, are date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of August 10, 1971 (A10). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Interior

The black interior of the Corvette looks splendid.  The seats look almost brand new with no rips, splits seams, or signs of wear.  They are not worn in the typical areas such as where the driver gets in and out.  The carpet throughout the car is also in "like new" condition with no stains, rips, or holes.  The dash is in wonderful condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage.  The door panels look great with no cracks or splits, but the skins are a bit wavy in spots.  This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma whatsoever.

Mechanical

This car seems to be in good mechanical condition.  It starts right away every time, idles well, runs well.   The Corvette drives great; it is smooth on the road and at highway speeds.  The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The car shifts well, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good.  There is no notable smoke when driving the car, just a puff when it is first started after sitting for a long while.  This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.  There are no issues that I am aware of that immediately affect the drivability of the car, but I am sure it could stand some maintenance and overall mechanical improvements.  All of the lights work as does the horn and blower for the heater on all speeds.  All of the gauges work, with the obvious exception of the clock.  The speedometer works fine, but the odometer does not turn.  The tachometer works, but the needle can be jumpy and I am not sure of its exact accuracy.  The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly from both their respective switches on the dash and override switches.  The wipers also work, but they can interfere with the wiper door.  The car is not obnoxiously loud, but has a very healthy sounding exhaust note.  This car is a pleasure to drive, especially with the 4-speed transmission and t-tops out on a nice day.

Overall
Condition

Overall, this 1972 Corvette is in good driver condition.  It is a great value and we have priced it to sell.  This car turns heads and gets ton of attentions wherever it goes.  In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible in the entire Corvette market right now.  Of those years, the 1969 and 1972 are the most desirable.  The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years.  They are all solid investments for a collector.  The frame rails on this Corvette have been repaired and welded, which is visible in the photos below.  The car may have started life as an automatic due to the bolt in cross member.  One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
