about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist.   We are a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 1982 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1972 Corvette Coupe This car is a great driver Corvette that needs nothing and is essentially "turn key."  It has been driven just over 73,000 miles since new.  The mileage is correct and original; this is verified on the title with the mileage marked as "Actual."  This Corvette is finished in one of the most beautiful and desirable color combinations of red over saddle.  It features leather seats, automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, and air conditioning that actually still works.  I have received compliments whenever I have driven the car; it always turns heads and gets a ton of attention.

The 1972 Corvette was truly the end of an era.  1972 was the last year to feature chrome bumpers and an "egg crate" grill, it is considered to be the last year of the truly classic Corvettes.  Years after were more at the mercy of insurance companies, fuel prices, and emission concerns, 1972 is considered the last "good" year.  It was also the last year to feature a pop out rear window, and the first year that the way horsepower ratings are measured changed from gross to the more accurate net.  As in investment, the 1972 will always have an advantage and out perform other years because of its precedence as the end of a a very great period for Corvette and American muscle cars as a whole.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

vehicle condition

Exterior

The Red exterior paint is in nice driver condition.  The paint’s finish has a smooth finish and a nice gloss.  Often many Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not.  There are numerous blemishes and cracks in the paint all around the car, especially on the hood and front fenders, that were too small or faint to show in in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about 20 feet away.  I have specifically a couple photos some of the areas on the left front fender.  The chrome and other bight work looks great for a driver.  The beauty rings look like fine with no curb rash.  This car has absolutely no rust issues.  The frame is totally solid and I have not noticed any corrosion around the windshield or "A" pillar.

All of the "Astro Ventilation" side glass is date coded and original to this car as each piece predates the build date of the car, November 1, 1971.  This is a good indication that the car has never been in a major accident and never sustained any significant damage.

Driver: YN - The "Y" denotes October and "N" 1971 so the driver's side window was made in October of 1971.

Passenger: AN - The "A" denotes September and "N" 1971 so the driver's side window was made in September of 1971.

Rear: UN - The "U" denotes July and "N" 1971 so the driver's side window was made in July of 1971.

Interior

The saddle interior of the Corvette is in very nice condition.  The seats have no holes or split seams and show little wear.  I have specifically included a photo of the area where the driver gets in and out because this it is so prone to excessive deterioration.  The carpet is also in good condition with no rips, holes, or major stains.  This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected.  All of the gauges work, with the obvious exception of the clock.  The dash and center console look awesome and have no tears, cracks, or sun fading.  The t-top storage bags are also included with the car.  The car has not been smoked in, there is no ash in the ashtray or aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Corvette is in terrific mechanical condition with no issues.  It is a 100% turn key Corvette that needs absolutely nothing that I am aware of.  It starts up quickly, runs well, and idles well.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  Even the original a/c still works and blows cold.  The car drives tight on the road and highway with no strange noises or vibrations.  This Corvette has plenty of power, it is very fast.  The transmission is solid and the car shifts smoothly.  The car brakes straight, but requires some extra effort and some getting used to because this car came from the factory with manual brakes .  The headlights pop up quickly with no effort or binding.  The pull down vacuum override switches for the headlights and wiper door works as well.  All of the interior and exterior lights work.  I cannot emphasize enough what a pleasure it is driving this car especially with the t-tops out on a gorgeous day.

Overall
Condition

Overall the vehicle is in wonderful condition for a driver.  I have personally driven this Corvette a coupled hundred miles this summer and it has been flawlessly reliable.  The early third generation Corvette Stingrays are beyond doubt one of the most sound and secure ventures one could make into the Corvette market.  The "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 are highly desirable and have continued to go up in value over the years with 1972 and 1969 being the most collectable years.  One could easily buy this car now, drive and enjoy it for several years, and then sell it for more than the purchase price.  It always gets attention going down the road.  The Corvette always turns heads and is admired by every car enthusiast.  Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
