about our dealership

Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist.   We are a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 1982 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this numbers matching 1973 Corvette Coupe.  This car has been driven just under 85,000 miles since new.  The black over 2-tone Dark Saddle and black interior is a very unique, dignified, and handsome trim combination.  This car is numbers matching, meaning that the last six digits of the vin, 433277, are stamped on the engine pad.  This car is in very presentable condition and is totally useable and drivable.

This car was finished on July 18, 1973.  This is verified by the code "L18" on the trim tag, "L" means July and "18" is the eighteenth day of the month.  It is also confirmed by build sequence, 33,277, placing the car in July of 1973.  Stamped on the engine pad is "V0702CLA."  The "V" means the engine was made at the Flint, MI plant, the "0702" is a date code meaning the engine was completed on July 2, 1973, and the "CLA" is a suffix code meaning that the engine was produced for an L48 with an automatic transmission, which is correct for this car.  The engine block casting date is "F 22 3."  The means that the block was cast on June 22, 1973.  The "L" denotes June, "22" is the twenty-second day of the month, and "3" is a code for 1973.  All of the date codes are correct as they predate the build date of the car.  The engine casting number is 3970010, which is correct for a 1973 L48.

The 1973 Corvette was truly the end of an era.  1973 was the last year to feature a chrome bumper, it is considered to be the last year of truly classic Corvettes.  Years after were more at the mercy of insurance companies, fuel prices, and emission concerns, 1973 is considered the last "good" year by many enthusiasts.  As in investment, the 1973 will always have an advantage and out perform other years because of its precedence as the end of a a very great period for Corvette and muscle cars as a whole.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Black exterior paint is in very presentable driver condition.  There are no major scratches or blemishes in the paint that have been intentionally excluded from the photos.  The paint has a nice finish and a good gloss.  Often many corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not.  This part of the car is very fragile and a it is a great sign that there is no damage in there.  There are numerous spots and blemishes in the paint around the car that were too small or faint to show in in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about 10 feet away. The chrome and other bight work looks great.  The tires show look literally brand new.

Interior

The two-tone leather interior is in very nice condition.  The seats look virtually brand new and show no signs of wear in the common area on the seat where the driver gets in and out.  The carpet has no rips, holes or stains.  This includes the rear carpet which is often neglected.  The Corvette has a modern aftermarket CD player that sounds better than the stock radio ever did.  The t-top storage bags are also included with the car.  The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This car is in decent mechanical condition.  The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well.  There are no issues that immediately affect the drivability of the car.  The car drives well; it is smooth on the road and at highway speeds.  The transmission shifts as it should throughout the power band.  With all that said, there is still some work left to be done to the car.  Some of the issues include a whine/noises from the rear end, a power steering leak, and the tick of an exhaust leak noticeable at idle.  There are also some options on the car that no longer work such as the clock, water temp gauge, blower motor, misc lights, horn, and other items.  There may be other troubles with the car that I have possibly overlooked so I would suggest that the buyer inspect the car in person if possible.  None of the problems I have noticed make the car unusable in its current state, but in an attempt to be totally honest I must disclose them.

Overall
Condition

Overall, this 1973 Corvette is in respectable condition with a ton of potential.  This car is a great value and I have priced it accordingly with all of the good and bad points in mind.  Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing.  The 1973 model year for Corvette is an excellent choice today and in the future as an investment.  1973 was the last year for a chrome bumper and many consider it to be the last truly vintage Corvette.  This model year is beyond doubt one of the most sound and secure ventures one could make into the Corvette market.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price with minimal effort.  Thank you for looking and please email or call with any questions.
