about our dealership

Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist.   We are a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 1982 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is particularly proud to offer this completely numbers matching 1975 Corvette convertible with only 46.740 original miles.  This Corvette is in gorgeous condition and needs nothing.  It is essentially 100% turn key and ready to be driven with everything working including the a/c and even the clock.  The car is in it's original color scheme, which is one of the most classic and refined, Silver Metallic (13) over Black Leather (192) as indicated by the trim pad, pictured below.  This Corvette is an exceptional driver and I wouldn't hesitate to hop in take a long road trip.  In fact, the previous owner told me he took the car on a 7 hour trip this year in the car.  The low mileage is verified as original by not only the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title stating the mileage as "actual."

1975 was a very special year for Corvette, it was the last year of the C3 body style in which a convertible model was offered.  Only 4,629 convertibles were made that year, which is why the 1975 Corvette Convertible is one of the most desirable models in the entire production run of C3 Corvettes.  1975 was also the first year Corvettes featured High Energy Ignition (HEI) with no mechanical points; a dramatic improvement over previous designs.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

numbers

item number description*
VIN 1Z67J5S401829 The third digit, "6," verifies that the car is an original convertible.  The fifth digit, "5," verifies that this is an original L48.  The sequence 01829 places the car's build date in October of 1974.
Body Build Date A26 "A" Corresponds to October, and the 26 is the twenty-sixth day of the month meaning this car was built on October 26, 1974.
Engine Code V1022 "V" means the engine was build in the Flint, MI plant.  The "10" is the tenth month of year and the "22" is the twenty-second day of the month meaning the engine was assembled on October 22, 1974.  This is correct as it precedes the build date of the car.
Suffix Code CHB This means the motor was intended for an L48 with an automatic transmission, which is correct for this car.
Engine VIN Stamping 401829 The last 6 digits of the car's VIN, 401829, are stamped on the engine pad meaning this engine is original to this car.
Engine Block Casting Number 3970010 The engine block has the correct 3970010 casting number.
Engine Block Casting Date J 18 4 "J" is October, "18" is the eighteenth day of the month, and "4" is 1974 so the engine block was cast on October 18, 1974.  Which is correct as it predates the assembly date of the engine.
Distributor 1112888 The distributor is original and correct with 1112888 stamped on the housing.
Distributor Date Code 4G11 The "4" is the last digit of the calendar year, the "G" denotes July, and "11" is the eleventh day of the month meaning the distributor was made on July 11, 1974.  This is correct as it predates the build dates of the engine.
Intake Manifold Casting Number 346249 The intake manifold is correct with a 346249 casting number.
Intake Manifold Casting Date J 24 4 "J" is October, "24" is the twenty-fourth day of the month, and "4" is 1974 so the engine block was cast on October 24, 1974.  Which is correct as it predates the assembly date of the engine.
Carburetor Main Body 7045223 The original carburetor has the correct stamping for a 350ci L48 Corvette.  The third digit, "4," means the carb was built in the 1970's.  The fourth digit,  "5," means it was built for the 1975 model year.  The fifth digit, "2," indicates that it is a 4BBL carb.  The sixth digit,  "2," means is was built for the Chevrolet division of GM.  The last digit, "2," means it was intended for use in an automatic car such as this.
Carburetor Date Code 2964 The first three digits, "296" indicate the 296th day of the year.  The last digit, "4" is the year it was produced, 1974.  So the carb  was stamped in October of 1974.
Transmission 75 CK The "C" means the transmission was made for a Chevrolet vehicle, and the "K" means is was intended for an L48 engine, which is correct for this car.
Transmission Date Code 273 "273" is the 273rd day of the year, which is late September or early October.
Driver's Window JL "J" is May and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in May of 1974.  This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.
Passenger  Window JL "J" is May and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in May of 1974.  This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

condition

Exterior

The Silver Metallic exterior is in terrific driver condition.  The finish has brilliant gloss and smooth finish.  Often many corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not.  The underside of the front end is in great condition as evidenced by the photos.  There are no major imperfections that have been excluded from the photos.  There are some small blemishes and bubbles in the paint on the back the car that were much too small to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from five feet away.  The aluminum wheels have a very nice finish with no curb rash.  The convertible top looks brand new and the rear window is perfectly clear.  This car still retains its original side glass, verified by the etched date codes.  Original glass is a good indication that the car has not been in a major accident and never sustained significant damage.  This Corvette has absolutely NO rust issues.  The frame is totally solid with no rust in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield.

Interior

The Black Leather interior is in outstanding condition.  The seats look great, just about what one would expect from 46,000 miles.  Please note that these are the original genuine leather seats, not some cheap after market replacements.  The carpet is in fabulous condition as well with no rips, holes or stains.  This includes the rear carpet which is often neglected.  The original pedal pads are not excessively worn, and as one can see from the pictures, show normal wear for a car with this mileage.  The aftermarket Corvette radio works well.  Most importantly, the dash was not cut for the installation of the radio because the radio was made to fit this car.  Corvette interiors are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this original interior is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout it's life and another great verification of the mileage.  This car has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks or aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This car is in fantastic mechanical condition, there are no issues at all with this Corvette and everything on the car works as it should.  The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  The car drives terrifically; it is very tight on the road and at highway speeds.  The transmission shifts smoothly.  The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other.  This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.  The catalytic converter has been removed and the car now has a true dual exhaust system with a very healthy tone.  Every option on this car works, air conditioning, horn, headlights, headlight override vacuum switch, even the clock and map light still work.  Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a nice day.

Overall
Condition

Overall this 1975 Corvette convertible is in marvelous condition.  Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing.  The originality, the very low miles, the beautiful and desirable color combo, and the great extent to which the numbers match make this car especially important and nearly impossible to duplicate.  Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future.  The 1975 convertible is the star of today and the future investment vise; it is beyond doubt one of the most sound and secure ventures one could make into the Corvette market.  One could enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than your purchase price.
