There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you
would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your
Corvette. This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my
full time employment. I do it because I enjoy it. I am a
collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.

because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this low mileage and
completely numbers matching 1979 Corvette in absolutely stunning
condition with the high performance L82 engine option and only
57,882 original miles since new. This is definitely one of the
nicest 1979 Corvettes on the market right now. The car looks
and drives awesome. It needs nothing and is ready to be
enjoyed. The Dark Brown Metallic over Light Beige is one of
the most rare, handsome, and desirable color combinations available
in 1979. It is also the original color scheme as indicated by
the trim tag pictured below.
This Corvette is an exceptional driver and I wouldn't hesitate to
hop in and take a road trip. The low mileage is verified by not
only the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title stating
the mileage as "actual." Please peruse all of the photos and
the list of numbers below to get a true sense of clean, correct, and
original this Corvette really is.
We
first purchased this Corvette in September of 2010 and embarked on a
7 hour road trip with no problems at all. The car was sold to
a local collector in October of that same year with 57,333 miles.
He recently traded this Corvette back into us for another car.
The previous owner was very meticulous with his vehicles, which is
evident in the care he took with this Corvette. Some of the
recent service he completed on the car includes: new front and rear
shocks, oil and filter change, sway arm bushings, spark plugs,
distributor cap and rotor, carburetor fuel filter, transmission
fluid filter, and a/c service.
"The Corvette evolution continues" proclaimed the slogan from the
1979 Corvette sales catalog. A new "open flow" muffler design
increased the horsepower on the L82 engines by 5hp. All
Corvettes in 1979 now had the high-back bucket seats introduced on
the 1978 limited-edition Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. A higher
pivot point allowed the seat
backrest fold more
flat and level with the luggage area floor. which drastically
improved access to the rear storage area. 1979 was also the
last year to feature bumpers without integrated spoilers. Some
enthusiasts prefer the simple lines and cleaner look of this body
style over the 1980-82 Corvette.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
numbers
Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct
stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the
dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of
the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For
example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and
the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date
of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could
be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and
are dated correctly.

The first digit, "1," indicated the Chevrolet division of

426553, are stamped on the engine pad
meaning this engine is original to this car.

The engine block has the correct 3970010 casting number.
Engine Block Casting Date
B 7 9
"B" is February, "7" is the seventh day of the month, and
"9" is 1979 so the engine block was cast on February 7,
1979. Which is correct as it predates the assembly
date of the engine.

This is correct as it predates the build dates of the

The original carburetor has the correct stamping for a 350ci
L82 Corvette. The fourth digit, "5," means the carb

digit, "9," means it was built for the 1979 model
year. The six digit, "2," indicates that it is a 4BBL

for the Chevrolet division of GM. The last digit, "8,"
means it was intended for use in an automatic car such as
this.
Carburetor Date Code
0439
The first three digits, "043" indicate the 43rd day of the
year. The last digit, "9" is the year it was produced,
1979. So the carb was stamped on February 12,
1979.

housing.
Alternator Date Code
8 M 22

month meaning the distributor was made on December 22, 1978.
This is correct as it predates the build dates of the

made in February of 1979. This is correct as it

"2" is the second month of the year and the second "2" is
the second day of the month. This means the wheels
were made on February 2, 1979. "AZ" is a code used on
wheels for 1979 Corvettes.

condition
Exterior
The Dark
Brown Metallic exterior is in beautiful driver condition.
As one can see in the photos
the finish has dazzling gloss and
smooth finish.
Often many
corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this
car does not. There are no major scratches, scrapes,
or other imperfections that have been excluded from the photos.
There may be some small blemishes that were too small to show up
in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from five or
ten feet away.
The wheels are in
great condition with a nice bright finish and no curb rash on
the beauty rings.The tires are
literally brand new with less than 600 miles. The bumpers
have not shrunken or faded and fit well to the car.
This Corvette has absolutely NO rust issues. The
frame is totally solid with no rust in front of the rear tire
and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield.
The Corvette looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Interior
The Light Beige Leather interior of
the Corvette is in awesome original condition.
The seats look great with no
excessive wear.
Please note that these appear to be the original seats, not
some cheap after market replacement. The
carpet is in nice original condition with no stains.
This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.
There is one rip in the carpet in the footwall on the
passenger's side. As one can see in the photos is it
hardly noticeable at all and mostly covered by the floor mat
anyway. The console and dash are in great condition
with not splits or sun damage. The door panels
are in great shape and unlike many Corvettes of this age,
they fit well and tight to the door.
This car has not been smoked in; there
is no aroma whatsoever. Corvette interiors are not
known to wear well and the excellent condition of this
original interior
is a testament
to the meticulous care this car has received
throughout its life.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Mechanical
This Corvette is in fine
mechanical condition and is a great driver.
As stated above,
the car has been recently serviced and it is ready to be
enjoyed. There is no smoke when starting or driving the
car. The transmission shifts smoothly. All of the
interior and exterior lights work and the headlights pop up with
no binding. The pull down vacuum switch for the headlights
works as well. All of the gauges work, even the clock.
The a/c works and blows cold.
The car drives terrifically; it
is very tight on the road and at highway speeds. The
brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other.
Also, the
engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can
see in the photos.
The only items that I am aware of that do not work on the car
are the cruise control, and the parking brake does not seem
tight.
These are minor
issues that do no affect drivability and that most dealers would
not reveal, but must be disclosed.
This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast with the high
performance L82. Please note that this car has not been
molested and the catalytic converter and smog system are still
in place. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the t-tops out
on a nice day.
Overall
Condition
Overall, this 1979 L82 Corvette is in
terrific condition. Numbers matching is extremely
important in Corvette pricing, especially with high performance
options like the L82. The originality, the rare and
desirable color combination, and the great extent to which the
numbers match make this car especially important and hard to
duplicate.
This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the
road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well
taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of C3
Corvettes have increased drastically over the past several
years. They are secure and wise investments for a
collector. One could easily
enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than
the purchase price with minimal effort.
