Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this very nice
1979 Corvette that is a great driver and priced to sell with only
82,315 original miles. The car looks great, runs awesome, and is a
blast to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic
Corvette that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable
value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than
the purchase price with minimal work and effort. The Corvette is
finished in the beautiful and classic color combinations of White
over Black interior. This is the original color scheme as verified
on trim tag pictured below. The low mileage is supported not only by
the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured
below, which indicates the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of
the photos, video, and information below to get a true sense of how
nice and clean this Corvette really is.
While this Corvette is not completely numbers matching it
does feature a 3970010 engine block, which is correct engine
used in 1979 Corvettes. The transmission is original and
correct with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the
main case and pictured below. The transmission also shows a
"9-78" casting date, which is September of 1978. This would
be correct as it predates the car's build date of September
24, 1978 (B21). All of the paint and trim codes are also
correct for the car.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
Corvette evolution continues" announced the slogan from the
1979 Corvette sales catalog. The L48 engine received the
dual-snorkel air intake introduced in 1978 for the optional
L82 V-8, which added 10 horsepower. All Corvettes in 1979
now had the high-back bucket seats introduced on the 1978
limited-edition Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. A higher pivot
point allowed the seat backrest fold more flat and level
with the luggage area floor. which drastically improved
access to the rear storage area.
exterior is in super nice driver condition. As one can see in
the photos the finish has excellent gloss, deep shine, and
smooth finish. This Vette was painted not long ago and added is
a very stylish fiberglass cowl induction hood. The fitment of
the hood is excellent and this hood adds an aggressive look to
the car. There are no major imperfections that have been
intentionally excluded from the photos, but there may be some
small blemishes that are too small or cannot be picked up by the
camera. There are a few cracks in the paint, see specific photos
below. There may be some small blemishes that were too faint to
show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from
about five or ten feet away. The aluminum wheels are in great
condition with a nice finish. The BF Goodrich tires have nearly
full tread left but are older and do have some minor cracking,
they are sized 245/60/15. As one can see in the many photos of
the underside of the car the frame is solid with no rust in
front of the rear tire around the "key hole." The

Window Date Codes
Please note that almost all of the glass on this Corvette, both
side windows and the rear window, are all date coded and original as each piece predates
the car's body build date of September 21, 1978 (B21).
Original glass is a good indication that this car has
had no major accident history
and never sustained significant damage.
Driver: UJ - "J" denotes July and the "J" denotes 1978
meaning the driver's side window was made in July of
Passenger: AJ - "A" denotes September and "J" denotes
1978 meaning the passenger's side window was made in
September of 1978.
Rear: YZ - "TJ" denotes August and "J" denotes 1978
meaning the rear window was made in August of 1978.
The car looks just as good in person as it does
in the photos.
Black interior is in outstanding condition. The seats look
new and have no excessive wear in any way, no rips or seam
splits. The drivers seat is not worn in the typical area
where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in excellent
condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. This
includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The rear
cargo cover operates properly and has no slits or tears. The
dash and console are in great condition with no fading or
sun damage. The door panels are in terrific condition, fit
to the door well, and the door pulls are solid. The stereo
has been upgraded to a modern CD player. The wood grain
inserts are in very good shape and not delaminated in any
way. The original pedal pads are not excessively worn and,
as one can see from the photos, show normal wear for a car
with this mileage. This Corvette has not been smoked in;
there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
This Corvette seems to
be in good overall mechanical condition. The car starts right
away every time, idles well, and runs well. The car is a nice
driver. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating
on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the
gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves.
Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs
quite well overall, especially with the FE7 Gymkhana Suspension. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to
one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout
the power band. Also, the engine compartment is nicely detailed
as one can see in the photos. There is a little initial smoke
when first starting the car, but it quickly goes away after a
literally 3 minutes of driving. This problem is caused by value
guide seals and is very common with C3 Corvettes. New valve
guide seals themselves cost less than $30. When driving on the
highway you can feel that the tires have some age to them. This
Corvette has plenty of power and handles nicely. The horn works
as do the lights, fan for the heater and a/c on all speeds, all gauges (with
the obvious exception of the clock), wipers, and power windows.
The entire vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with
no effort or binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go
up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override
switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be
observed in the video below. The a/c does not work. Not enough
can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this
car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.
The car runs
and drives just as great as it looks.
Overall, this 1979 Corvette is in
great driver condition. This car is a great value and we
have priced it to sell. The car turns heads and gets ton
of attentions wherever it goes. The value of the C3 body
style cars has gone up dramatically in the past few
years. They are all solid investments for a collector.
