about our dealership
Seven Hills Motorcars is Cincinnati's premier Corvette specialist and a licensed and registered auto dealer by the State of Ohio.  With many years of focused experience I specialize in 1963 to 2004 Corvettes.  There is no other dealership that can better meet your needs if you would like to buy, sell, or just find out more information about your Corvette.  This is simply a one man operation, and this is not my full time employment.  I do it because I enjoy it.  I am a collector and enthusiast and therefore look for cars that excite me.  I do not purchase at dealer auctions; each car is hand picked by me because it is special or rare to me and because I like it.

vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is extremely proud to offer this low mileage 1981 Chevrolet Corvette in beautiful condition.  This is a correct numbers matching car with the last 6 digits of the VIN, 103182, appearing on the engine block.  The trim pad numbers, 33 and 38 are also correct for a Silver/Dark Blue two tone car.  1981 was the only year Corvettes were produced at 2 different plants, St. Louis and the brand new Bowling Green plant, where Corvettes are still made today.  This car came from the more advanced Bowling Green.  It can be verified that this car came from Bowling Green by the 11th digit in the VIN, a "5," and by the fact that all two tone Corvettes in 1981 were built at that plant.  That also means that this car came with a high quality, more modern, multi-stage clear coat paintjob from the factory.  Most Corvettes built in 1981 and every Corvette built until then and in St. Louis came with a lower quality single stage lacquer paint.  This particular car was built in August of 1981.  This is verified by the "B 08" stamped on trim pad and the original sticker still present on the drivers door showing the VIN and a production date of "8/81."

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  I hand pick each car after careful inspection.  The cars I purchase come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  Please take the time to examine each picture I have provided.  I photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, please feel free to send an email or give me a call.

condition

Exterior

The two tone exterior paint is in excellent condition. The paint has a great finish and a high gloss.  There are no major paint defects.  There are some small blemishes from age, but there is nothing that is noticeable from 5ft away.  This Corvette came equipped with aluminum wheels, which are in excellent condition with a bright finish and absolutely no curb rash.  The tires have virtually no wear.  The bumpers are not faded or wavy at all, a common problem on 1980 to 1982 Corvettes.  The low front end of this car is not chipped and damaged from rock chips.  Even the front spoiler, a very fragile and venerable area on these cars is in good condition and pictured.  This car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Dark Blue Leather interior of the corvette is in superb condition.  The leather seats are in awesome condition with no splits, tears, or holes.  The seats are not worn through in the typical places, such as where the driver gets in and out of the car.  The carpet is in nice condition with no stains and looks to be original, not a cheap aftermarket replacement.  This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.  There is a small tear in the carpet on drivers side, which is visible in the photos.  The original jack, stickers, and cargo tray are all present in the rear storage compartment.  The car has never been smoked in, there is no ash in the ashtray or aroma what so ever.  Corvette interiors of this vintage are not known to wear well, and this car's interior in such great condition is a testament to the loving care this car has received throughout the years.

Mechanical

The corvette is in great mechanical condition, there are no issues at all with the performance or drivability of this Corvette.  The car starts right away, drives exceptionally, and brakes perfectly straight and powerfully.  It is tight and has been flawlessly reliable since I have owned it.  The 3 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band.  The headlights go up and down perfectly with both the headlight switch and vacuum override switch, all of the lights and gauges work, the horn works, the power locks work, even the a/c blows cold.   All of the lights on this car work as they should such as the interior light delay when the key is removed.  Even very detailed items work as they should such as the courtesy light behind the rear license plate, which many owners do not even know exists because they so commonly never work.  Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. The only issues I am aware of with the car are the power antenna and cruise control, which are two of the most common issues for this vintage Corvette.  The car needs to service or work that I am aware of.  There are no rust issues with this car.

Also, for any 1981 Corvette you may look at, be sure to check the "check engine" light.  The light should go on when the key is turned on then quickly go off when the car is started as a confirmation that the light is working.  That majority of these cars have had the bulb removed to mask other problems.  The "check engine" light on this car operates just as it should, going on with the car as a check and then going off when started.

Overall Condition

Overall the vehicle is in outstanding condition, both the exterior and interior as well as mechanically The vehicle is numbers matching, which is a must for any Corvette that can be taken seriously as a investment or show car.  Corvettes from 1980 to 1982 are highly desirable and have continued to appreciate in value over the years.  They are solid investments and will provide you with years of enjoyment.  One could drive and enjoy this car for a few years and then sell it for more than the purchase price.  If you have any questions about the car or would like to schedule and appointment to see it in person please do not hesitate to email or call.  Thank you for looking and have a nice day.
