The Charcoal exterior paint is in excellent driver condition.
The paint has an extremely nice gloss.
The paint is not
swirl marked like most dark colored cars.
Often many Corvettes
of this vintage will have wrinkly rear spoilers, this car does not.
Also, the underside of the front end is very fragile and prone to
damage. I included photos of this area to show the care
with which this car has been driven over the years.
There are some smaller blemished in the paint on the tip of
the front bumper. I specifically included a photos of them.
There are no major
paint scratches or large chips that have been excluded from the
There are also some very small blemishes in the paint around
the car that were too small to show up in the photos, but
nothing that is really noticeable from five feet away.
This Corvette came equipped with aluminum wheels, which are in
condition with a nice
All of the glass is
date coded and original to the car as it predates the build date of
December 11, 1980. This indicates that the car has never been in a
major accident and never sustained any significant damage.

The interior of this
Corvette is in marvelous original condition. The seats look
incredibly nice for the mileage and show very little wear.
Also, please note that these are the original seats, they have not
been replace or recovered with cheap aftermarket replacements.
I have specifically included a picture of the area on the
drivers seat that is usually the worst because Corvettes are so
prone to wear there. The carpet is in good condition and looks
original, with no rips or holes.
This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.
The console and dash look just as nice with no cracks or sun fading.
This car has not been smoked in, there is no aroma or burn marks
Detail items, such as the rear cargo cover and the pulls for the
battery and storage compartments that are so fragile and usually
broken, are not on this car.
The t-top bags are
also included with the car.
This car is in great mechanical condition. It starts easily,
runs well, and idles well.
1981 was the
last year for the carbureted Corvettes. Most people prefer a
carbureted Corvette over the complicated fuel injected models.
The carburetors provide simple, reliable operation.
There are no rust
issues with this car. The frame is in good condition and I
have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield and "A"
This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.
The 3 Speed
transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band.
The car is very tight
on the road and highway and also brakes strongly and perfectly
straight. The headlights go up and down as they should with
both the headlight switch, and the headlight override vacuum switch.
All of the gauges work as they should, even the cruise control
works. There are some items on the car that do not work: the
horn, power locks, a/c, and the power antenna, an extremely common
issue on Corvettes up to 1996. These are very minor issues
that most dealers would not disclose, however, in my attempt to be
totally honest I feel as if I must disclose them.
Overall the Corvette is in fantastic condition.
There are very few Charcoal Metallic C3s on the market and this
time of year in this economic situation is about the best time ever
to buy a car like this.
The vehicle is numbers matching, which is a must for any Corvette
that can be taken seriously as a investment or show car.
One could easily buy this car now, drive and enjoy it for several
years, and then sell it for more than the purchase price.
This body style has increased in price rapidly over the past few
years. They are now over 25 years old and will continue to
increase in time.
