The Red exterior paint is in presentable condition. The paint
has an nice gloss and is very shiny.
Often Corvettes of this vintage will have chipped up front ends or
wrinkly rear spoilers, this car does not. I have done my best
to accurately photograph the car and show all of the flaws, but some
spots are too small or cannot be picked up by the camera. One
should really view the car in person to get the best detailed idea
of what the paint really looks like. For the most part
however, the car looks in person as it does in the photos with some
blemishes in the paint.
The drivers door opens fine, but it is quite sticky.
This Corvette came equipped with aluminum wheels, which are in
condition with a great
finish and no curb rash. The tires are in nice shape with
plenty of tread left.
There are no rust
issues with this car.
There is no rust on the frame in front of the rear tire around the
"key hole" and no rust visible on the "A" pillar or around the

date coded and original to the car as it predates the build date of
September 9, 1980.
This indicates that the car has never been in a major accident and
never sustained any significant damage.

The interior of this
Corvette is in nice driver condition. The seats look very good
for the mileage and show no excessive wear. The driverís seat
is not worn through in the typical places, such as where the
driverís belt-line may wear the seat bolsters. There is,
however, a small spot on that seat bottom visible in the photos
where the stitching is starting to pull.
The carpet is in good condition with no major rips or holes.
This includes the rear carpet with is often neglected.
The console and dash look just as nice in person as they do in the
photos. The door panels are in great condition and fit tightly
to the door.
This Corvette is a very good driver. It starts easily and
emits no smoke.
1981 was the last year for the carbureted Corvettes. Most
people prefer a carbureted Corvette over the complicated fuel
injected models. The carburetors provide simple, reliable
operation. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast.
I would say that the car could use a good tune up and some other
The 3 Speed transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band.
The car is very tight
on the road and highway and also brakes strongly and perfectly
straight. The headlights go up and down as they should with
both the headlight switch, and the headlight override vacuum switch.
There are some items with the car that do not work including the
a/c, "Check Engine Light," Cruise, Temp Gauges, Power Antenna, and
other miscellaneous bits and pieces. These items do not affect
the drivability of the car.
Overall this Corvette is in decent driver condition. I mush
disclose that the title lists the mileage as "Exceeds Mechanical
time of year and in this economic situation is about the best time
ever to buy a car like this.
The vehicle is numbers matching, which is a must for any Corvette
that can be taken seriously as a investment or show car. One
could easily buy this car now, drive and enjoy it for several years,
and then sell it for more than the purchase price.

years. They are now over 25 years old and will continue to
