vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this completely numbers matching 1981 Corvette in great condition and with only 58,780 original miles. This Corvette looks great, runs well, and is an excellent driver. It is loaded with desirable options like N90 aluminum wheels and glass T-tops. The car is totally solid with no rust issues and straight lines. The Classic White over Dark Blue Leather color combination looks great on the car and is much better then the usual black you see with a white car. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured below. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Corvette that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on the 1980 and 1981 Corvettes is strong right now and on the rise. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, list of numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice and clean this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.  We hand pick each car after careful inspection.  Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.  We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected.  Please take the time to scrutinize each picture.  We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase.  If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

numbers

Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts, but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example, all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. Most of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly.

condition

Exterior

The Classic White exterior is in terrific driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has nice gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both door open and shut nicely as do the hood and headlights. The N90 aluminum wheels and center caps are in good condition with a nice finish. The tires appear to have about 80% tread left and are correctly sized 255/60R15. There are a few small imperfections and touch ups around the car that are noticeable in the photos. There are some other faint blemishes in the paint that were too tiny to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, this Corvette has NO RUST ISSUES. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" are in front of the rear tire and I have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield, which are the two most notorious spots for rust on a C3 Corvette.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL of the windows on this Corvette, both side windows, the rear window, and even the windshield are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of October 07, 1980 (C07). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

The car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Dark Blue interior in this Corvette is in spectacular original condition. The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with no rips, split seams, or signs of excessive wear. They are not worn through in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and leather skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet is also in great original condition with no major stains or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The console and dash are in great condition with no cracks or sun damage. The door panels are in good shape and, unlike many Corvettes of this age, they fit well and tight to the door. The door pulls are solid and intact. The jack and jack handle are still present with the car and stowed correctly behind the passenger seat, pictured below showing the original stickers on the compartment lid. The original spare is still with the car. It looks like it has never been on the ground and still has the nubs on it. This Corvette has never been smoked in, there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes. Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time. It drives nice and feels good on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, wipers, power windows, power antenna, all of the gauges, the blower on all speeds, and even the a/c. One can observe the a/c compressor engaging properly and turning on in the video below. The entire vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with no effort or binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be observed in the video below. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

The car runs and drives just as great as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1981 Corvette is in wonderful driver condition. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, especially with low mileage examples like this car. The originality, the great condition, and the great extent to which the numbers match make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
