condition
Exterior
The black exterior is in excellent driver condition.
As stated above this truck recently received a beautiful new
paintjob that looks awesome. In the photos one can see that the
finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The
wheels and center caps are in beautiful condition with a nice
finish and no curb rash, this incudes the side mounted spare.
The chrome was redone and looks excellent with a brilliant
finish and no pitting. Both doors open and shut well.
The underside of the truck is exceptionally clean. This Ford has absolutely
no rust issues. The frame
is totally solid. We have included may photos of the underside to show how great it looks.
Interior
The
interior of the pickup is in
wonderful condition and has also been restored. The
seat was recently recovered and looks good with no
rips or split seams. The black floor mat is in good condition as
well with no rips or stains. The door panels look great as
do the other interior panels in the rear cargo area. The dash is in
wonderful shape with no
fading or sun damage. The
gauge faces are clean and the lenses are clear. This car has
not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes at
all.
Mechanical
This
Ford seems to be in good mechanical condition overall. It starts
right away every time, runs well, and idles well. In the
video below one can observe the car accelerating, braking, shifting through all the gears, and going through some
turns. Please note that the
truck performs quite
well overall for a 1931 model. The
transmission shifts well. The brakes are responsive. We have had the truck up to about
35 miles an hour and it drives well for what it is. It has bias
ply tires and definitely feels primitive out on the road
compared to a modern vehicle. Also, the engine compartment is
beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos. The
speedometer amp gauge all work, the odometer does not. The horn
works sporadically. Both windows roll up and down easily with no
binding. The parking brake works. All of the lights front and rear work. The steering
column mounted throttle and spark advance levers also work
properly.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1931 Ford Model A
Panel Delivery is in wonderful driver condition.
The classic Ford trucks are
highly collectible and the market on them is very hot right now.
This is especially true for nice unmolested and
unmodified examples like this one. The excellent
restored condition
and beautiful color combination make
this truck especially important and difficult to
duplicate. This truck always gets a ton of attention
driving down the road. The prices of classic pickups have increased
drastically over the past years. They are secure and
wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy
this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than
the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not
hesitate to email or call with any questions.
