vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this very low mileage 1987 Mercedes 560SL is spectacular condition. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now. Very low mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are exceptionally difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. This 560SL is exceptionally original with the correct VIN stickers on the body panels we checked. There is copy of the Carfax report on this car pictured below. It is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low mileage. It comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual."

This Mercedes is verified as "numbers matching" meaning the engine in the car is the correct and original unit that was installed in the factory. It is especially rare, but this 560SL has the "vehicle data card" from the Mercedes factory, which is pictured below. It shows the original engine number to be "117967 12 015020." We have checked the engine and confirmed that same engine number stamped on the left side of the engine block. All of the paint and trim codes are also correct and match the vehicle data card and the data tag by the radiator.

This 560SL looks outstanding, runs great, and is and awesome driver. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. The car come with service records and some stamps in the maintenance book. In addition to the service book there is a receipt for $2,328.21 from the Mercedes dealer showing that the 30,000 mile service was also completed in 2000 showing the car had 27,370 miles at the time. Also included with the car are the original owners manual, books, tools, convertible top wrenches, original spare tire & rim, jack, and factory Mercedes First Aid kit, which are all pictured below. This Mercedes is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Champagne (473) over Light Brown Palomino Leather interior (274). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified on the data tag pictured below as well as the vehicle data card. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is.

As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Champagne exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. A sticker with this individual Mercedes VIN is present on all the body parts we checked, the hood, trunk, both doors, both front fenders, both rear fenders, and both the front and rear bumper. This is another excellent sign of no accident history. The wheels have a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The tires are almost brand new and are correctly sized 205/65R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As with any paintjob with this many years on it there are some very small blemishes and touch ups around the car visible in the photos and some others that are too tiny so show up, but nothing that is really noticeable from about 5 feet away. There is a small spot in the paint by the antenna and a dent on the rear part of the left front fender, with specific photos of the areas below. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust.

Interior

The Palomino Brown Leather interior of the 560SL looks absolutely fantastic. The seats are in great condition with no tears, rips, or split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical are on the driver's bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet looks terrific with no stains, rips, or holes. The convertible soft top is in excellent shape and looks virtually brand new. The soft top windows are in excellent condition and perfectly clear with no yellowing or cloudiness. Three is a small area on the driver's side hardtop weather-stripping that is showing its age. All of the gauges faces are crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The wood trim looks nice overall with no fading. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever, obviously no burn marks, and the factory lighter looks brand new and have never been used.

The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire and rim, jack, and tool kit with the correct Mercedes wrenches. Please note that the original Mercedes first-aid kit is complete and also still with the car.

The excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This 560SL appears to be in great mechanical condition; everything on the car works and it is ready to be enjoyed. There are some maintenance records included with the car along. The engine starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs great. It is an exceptional driver that feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well, runs great, there are no vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.

Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, power windows, power antenna, wipers, and fan. All of the gauges work. The a/c works and blows cold. The original radio works, gets good reception, and sounds great. This Mercedes has lots of power with the 5.6 liter engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1987 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. The market on for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for the 560SL's from 1986 to 1989 model years. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
