Motorcars is very proud to offer this nicely restored numbers
matching 1975 Trans Am in great condition and priced to sell. The
car is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of
Buccaneer Red (75) over Black deluxe vinyl (19W) interior. This is
the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured below. This
Trans Am is numbers matching with a "YS" engine code stamping, which
is correct for an L78
400ci and pictured below, and the last six digits of the VIN "560175" stamped on the block,
also pictured below,
indicting this is the original engine. The beautifully restored
exterior and interior, and the numbers matching driveline of this TA
makes for a very attractive package. It looks great, runs awesome,
and is fun to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a
classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an
unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for
more than the purchase price in years to come. Please peruse all of the
photos and video below to get a true sense of how clean and correct this Trans
Am really is.
We actually purchased two cars for the previous owner of
this Trans Am.
He was a true enthusiast with a small collection and we we
able to obtain this 1975 Trans am and a fully restored El
Camino. Both cars a very nice, but this Trans Am seemed so
well done and reliable that we decided to just drive it back
from Sidney, OH all the way back to Cincinnati instead of
trailering it since it was a nice day. The car preformed
flawlessly on the nearly 100 mile trip and was an absolute
pleasure to drive.
As a side note, this Trans Am is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Pontiac, just give us a call.
The third front end design in three years appeared for 1975. Not as
drastic as the change between '73 and '74, there were changes none
the less. The parking lamps were moved from below the front bumper
for their first (and only) time. Filling the outboard edges of the
grilles, the chrome bezeled (yes they're back!) park/turn signal
Colors availability exploded on the Trans Am,
now totaling four. The feature color became Sterling silver,
complementing standbys Cameo white and Buccaneer red. Admiralty blue
was replaced by Stellar blue. The standout on the traditionally
quick fading Sterling silver T/A's was a dynamic red/black/charcoal
bird and accompanying labels and engine callouts.
Trans Am lost the cloth/vinyl seat combination, so all interiors
were finished with vinyl seat coverings. Green disappeared all
together and the red trim was replaced by a rich burgundy. As in
1974, multicolored interiors could be ordered, increasing the number
of potential build combinations. What the T/A lacked in go choices
was made up for in the show department. The 8-track tape player was
still a must have option, continuing to reside in the center
console, in its own stand alone module.
Buccaneer Red exterior is in excellent restored condition. As
one can see in the photos, the paint has a beautiful gloss, deep
shine, and smooth finish. This Trans Am was treated to a
professional paint job with all new correct decals applied
within the last few years. The body was solid and strait prior
to the repaint, it just had a few door dings to repair before
new base coat/clear coat was applied. The finished product looks
excellent in the photos and video but even better in person
especially in the sunshine. Often many Trans Am's will have
particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not, both
bumpers are in nice shape with no spider webbing or flaking
paint. We have included may photos of the underside of the car
as well as specific photos of the areas most prone to rust. There are no major imperfections that have been
intentionally excluded from the photos. There is one small spot
on lower passenger rear quarter that shows a few very shallow
bubbles, there is a specific photos below of the are to show how
minor it is. The tires are like new sized
225/70/15 and the rally II wheels are beautifully refinished
originals with no curb rash. This TA has a newer shaker seal,
trunk seal, window sweeps, and door seals. The trunk is freshly painted with a new correct trunk mat with
built in jute padding and is nicely detailed with full size
rally II spare tire.

The black deluxe interior of the
Trans Am looks truly splendid. The seats have been recently
recovered and are in like new condition with no tears, split
seams, or signs of wear in any way. The carpet is also "like
new" with no stains, rips, or holes. The dash is in
great condition with no cracks, fading, warping or sun
damage. The door panels are in excellent condition with no
cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact.
The headliner is in great condition and not sagging at all
and the package tray is also in great condition. The
aftermarket Craig analog cassette stereo sounds good and is
period correct for the car. Most importantly, the original dash was not cut or modified
for the installation. There are also new Pioneer 6x9 speakers are
mounted in the rear deck. All of the interior plastics are in very
nice shape, are not chalky, and have a nice factory texture
and grain pattern. This car has not been smoked in; there is
no aroma what so ever. Older Firebird interiors are not
known to wear well and the excellent condition of this
interior is a testament to the excellent care this car has

This Trans Am is
in great mechanical condition and all of the accessories work;
even the a/c blows cold. As stated above this car just completed
a long road trip with no issues at all. This car is an exceptional driver that
feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke
when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every
time, idles well, and runs great. The car shifts well. The steering
feels tight for a 1970's F-Body and the car rides solid without
a lot of rattles.
The brakes are okay and do not pull to one side or the
other. This TA has true dual exhaust and has a nice healthy
exhaust tone. There is a small sound of an exhaust leak on
the passenger side, which is very common on cars with headers. Also, the engine is clean, factory complete, and
nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. It appears that
the engine has been gone through and refreshed to stock specs.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, gauges, wipers,
and blower for the heater and a/c. The speedometer, odometer
tachometer, oil pressure, fuel, and battery gauges all work as
they should. The AC system is fully intact and blows cold air.
This Trans Am has good power and handles well. Not enough can be
said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.
Overall, this 1975 Trans Am is in
terrific restored condition. It is a great value and we
have it priced to sell. The original owners manual,
Pontiac maintenance booklet, and consumer information
booklet are all still with the car and pictured below. This car turns heads and gets
tons of attention wherever it goes. The value of these
1970's trans Am's has gone up exponentially in recent years
and they continue to climb. They are
all solid investments for a collector. Cars like this
are the Barrett Jackson and Mecum stars of the future.
One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years
and sell it for more than the purchase price with
