Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this 1978 Formula which is
in very nice driver condition and priced to sell. This Formula is in
good overall condition featuring a rare black and white interior
that is very clean and a nice professional exterior repaint in
original Mayan Red with new correct W50 Formula decals. This is a
very rare factory ordered 1978 Formula with a unique combination of
factory ordered 4 speed transmission with a factory ordered Chevy
350 with 4 bbl carb., painted in beautiful Mayan Red over an even
rarer correct tuxedo interior of white and black. This is the
correct factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured
below. All of the other desirable options are verified by the
original build sheet that is still with the car and also pictured
below. It looks great, runs awesome, and is fun to drive. This is an
excellent opportunity to own a classic Formula that is ready to be
used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this
car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to
come. The previous owner of this car traded it in to us on a 1979
Z28. He was from Lima, OH and actually drove the car down to
us, which is over two hours away. The car performed flawlessly
for him and I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and take a road trip.
Please peruse all of the photos below to get a true sense of nice
this Formula really is.
As a side note, this Trans Am is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Pontiac, just give us a call.
Red exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the
photos, the paint has a nice gloss, good shine, and smooth
finish. This Formula was recently treated to a quality repaint
with all new correct Formula decals applied. There are some
photos below of the car before restoration. The body is very
strait with no visible signs of rust on the exterior or the frame.
Often many Formula's will have particularly chipped up front
ends, this car does not, both bumpers are in excellent shape
with no flaking or faded paint. There are no major imperfections
that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There may
be some small blemishes that were too faint to show up in
photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or
ten feet away. Tires have good tread left and are sized
235/60/15 and the Eagle 15x8 aftermarket wheels are in like new
condition and really compliment the car. All weather stripping
is in great usable condition. Trunk is clean and is nicely
Am has a stamping on the radiator core support, which is pictured below.
The core support shows a "3 31 78" stamp, or
March 31, 1978. This stamping would be correct and original as
the car's build date of the third week of April, 1978
(04C). As one can imagine, if this Trans Am had
ever sustained even a minor front end collision this
part would have been repaired or replaced. The
original stamping is great to see in tact.

The rare white and black tuxedo
deluxe interior of this Formula looks good. The seat
covers are in nice condition with no excessive wear,
although there is a small repair to the drivers seat seam.
The carpet is good condition with no major stains, rips, or
holes. The original dash is in great condition with no
cracks, fading, or sun damage. The original AM/FM 8 track
stereo is in good working condition and thankfully the dash
remains uncut for an aftermarket stereo. All interior lights
and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The
door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both
door pulls are solid and in tact. Headliner and package tray
are both in good condition with no sagging, warping or
fading. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma
what so ever.

This Formula is in
excellent mechanical condition with under 5000 miles on the
rebuilt drive line. Basically, everything on this car works and
it is an excellent driver. Lots of high quality performance
parts went into the rebuild such as: new summit racing heads,
summit performer intake, summit 4bbl carb., new cam and lifters,
headers, rebuilt carb., new fuel pump, new water pump, new plugs
and wires, new cap and rotor, new clutch, new brakes throughout,
coolant flush, etc., etc. Receipts we have total well over $2555
not including the costs of the heads, intake, carb. headers,
etc. The mechanics and the way this car runs and drives are some
of its strongest points. This Formula is an exceptional driver
that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no
smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away
every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not
pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and
nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The horn works
as do all the interior and exterior lights, all gauges, wipers,
and blower for the heater work as they should. This Formula has
lots of power and handles nicely. Not enough can be said as to
how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially on a
beautiful day with the t-tops out rowing through the gears.
Overall, this 1978 Formula is in
great driver condition. It is a great value and we have
it priced to sell. The rarity, documentation, and recent
mechanical work make this car particularly desirable.
This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever
it goes. The value of these cars has gone up
exponentially in recent years. They are all solid
investments for a collector or the average enthusiast.
Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the
