Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this 1981 Trans Am in
excellent survivor condition and priced to sell with only 18,780
original miles. This Trans Am is in great original condition
featuring a beautiful stock interior, excellent paint with
original decals, a numbers matching drive line with extremely low
original miles, WS6 performance package, F41 Suspension, and lots of original
documentation authenticating this wonderful TA. It looks great, runs
awesome, and is fun to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to
own a classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an
unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for
more than the purchase price in years to come as the Trans Am market
continues to be on the rise. This Trans Am is finished in the
beautiful and desirable color combinations of Dark Blue Metallic
over Dark Blue deluxe Pimloco cloth interior. This is the factory
color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured below and two
original build sheets. The extremely low
original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car,
but also the accompanying documentation and the clear Ohio title, pictured below, stating the mileage
as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and
other information below to get a true sense of clean and nice this
Trans Am really is.
Please note that this Trans Am is
"numbers matching." That means that all of codes, dates, and
stamping are original or correct for the car and in correct
chronological order. In terms of value this is a very important
factor and will become more vital in the years to come as the car
gets older. Most importantly the engine is original to the car. The
last six digits of the VIN, 108611, are stamped on the engine block
and pictured below indicating that this is the original engine that
was installed in the car brand new at the factory. The full stamping
is "2BN108611" and "2" indicates the Pontiac division of GM, the "B"
is the model year, 1981, and the "L" is the plant where the car was
produced, Van Nuys, CA. All of the trim and paint codes are also
correct for the car.
This Trans Am comes with a TON of original documentation
including the original order form from Don Ayres Pontiac in
Fort Wayne, IN when the car was purchased brand new in 1980.
Two original build sheets are included with the car. We
removed the rear seat and discovered one of them in terrific
condition. Please see the photo below of the build sheet
still in the seat before it was removed. Also included with
the car is the original owners manual, warranty book with
the original owners name(Neil Applegate) on it, consumer
information booklet, Delco Radio book, Emissions Information
letter from the original dealer, maintenance booklet,
compact spare tire pamphlet, and even the GM envelope the
original owner received at the dealer with his name still on
it. There is also a short write up pictured below showing
all of the owners back to new.
As a side note, this Trans Am is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Pontiac, just give us a call.
Dark Blue Metallic exterior is in excellent driver condition. As
one can see in the photos the paint has a beautiful gloss,
terrific shine, and smooth finish. The decals are in very nice
condition for being original, only the hood bird shows light
checking. The nose crest
emblem looks great as do the front bumper grills. There are no
major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from
the photos. There may be some small blemishes that were too
faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really
noticeable from about five or ten feet away. The BF Goodrich
tires have nearly full tread left and are correctly sized
225/70/15 and the OEM 15x8 snowflake wheels look amazing with no
curb rash, with 4 new center caps and new lug nuts. The trunk is
very solid and clean; it comes with the spare tire, lug wrench,
jack base and the correct original trunk mat, with original
GM/Fischer T top bags. We have specifically included photos
below of the areas of the body most prone to rust as well as
many photos of the underside to show how clean and solid this
Trans Am is.
The Trans Am looks just as good in person as it does in
This Trans Am has a
stamping on the radiator core support, which is pictured
below. The core support shows a "3 24 80 stamp, or March
24, 1980. This stamping would be correct and original as
it precedes the car's build date of the fourth week of
October, 1980 (10D). As one can imagine, if this Trans
Am had ever in the past sustained even a minor front end
collision this part would have been repaired or
replaced. The original stamping is great to see in tact.

note that ALL of
the the glass on this car, even the T-Tops, is date coded and original as each piece
predates the car's body build date of this fourth week of
October, 1980 (10D). Original glass is a good indication
that this car has had no major accident history
and never sustained significant damage.
The Dark Blue deluxe cloth interior
of this Trans Am looks utterly splendid. The seats are in
amazing original condition with no excessive wear, rips,
stains, or seam splits. Please note that these are the
original seats, not some cheap or incorrect aftermarket
covers. The carpet is in great condition
with no excessive wear, stains, or holes. The original dash
is in near perfect condition with no cracks, fading, or sun
damage. The engine turned dash bezel looks just as nice and
virtually new. A very nice working am/fm Realistic Cassette
radio was properly installed and thankfully the dash remains
uncut for a modern stereo head unit. All gauges work as they should
outside of the temp gauge, even the clock works and keeps
time. Both door panels look great with no
cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact.
The headliner and package tray are both in excellent
condition and are factory correct with no warping, sagging,
or fading. This car has not been smoked in; there is no
aroma what so ever. Please note in the video below how both
seat belts operate and retract properly. This is a very
common problem on this era "F-Body" and a small, but very
important, detail most buyers do not think to check.
Firebird interiors are not know to wear well and the
spectacular condition of this original interior is a
testament to the meticulous care this car has received
throughout its life.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
This Trans Am is
in terrific mechanical condition with only 18,780 original
miles. The mechanics and the way this car runs and drives are
some of its strongest points. The car has surprising power and
quickness. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels
great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one
can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about
70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going
through some curves. Please note that it shifts well, runs
great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car
performs quite nice overall. There is no smoke when starting
or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well,
and runs excellent. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to
one side or the other. Also, the engine compartment is clean and highly
detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is
extremely stock and unmolested, all of the factory components
are still on the engine and not tampered with. All the exterior
lights work as well as the wipers and blower for the heater and
a/c on all speeds, but the horn does not work. Very importantly
the "Check Engine" light still works properly, which is one item
most buyers do not even know to look for. The speedometer, tachometer, odometer,
oil pressure, fuel, and battery gauges all work as they should.
This is a factory A/C car and all the major components are still
in tact but currently it is not functional. As one can hear in
the video the car has a health exhaust note and no catalytic
converter. This Trans Am has good power and handles very well
being a factory ordered WS6 special performance packaged car
with 3.08 rear gears. Not enough can be said as to how much of a
pleasure it is to drive this car, especially on a beautiful day
with the T-tops removed.
for any 1981 Trans Am you may look at, be sure to verify
that the "check engine" light is working correctly. The
light should go on when the key is turned on as a
confirmation that the light is working, then quickly go
off when the car is started. A great number of these
1981 Trans Am have had the bulb removed to mask other
problems. As one can observe in the video below the
"check engine" light on this car operates just as it
should, going on with the car as a check and then going
off when started.
Overall, this 1981 Trans Am is in
excellent survivor condition. It is a great value and we
have it priced to sell. The incredibly low mileage, the
originality, and beautiful color combination make this
Trans Am particularly desireable and nearly impossible
to duplicate. This car turns heads and gets tons of
attention wherever it goes. The value of these
cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are
all solid investments for a collector or the average
enthusiast. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars
of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for
several years and sell it for more than the purchase
price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not
hesitate to email or call with any questions.
