vehicle description

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this 4-Speed 1981 Trans Am in nice driver condition and priced to sell with only 83,520 original miles. It looks great, runs great, and is fun to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Trans Am that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the Trans Am market continues to be on the rise. The 4-speed models are rare, much more desirable, and add a lot of value to the car. The previous owner installed a newer GM Goodwrench 305ci crate engine that runs awesome. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Cameo White (11) with Red graphics (WV9) over Medium Red cloth interior (75B). This is the factory color scheme as verified by the trim tag pictured below, the original build sheet, and original window sticker. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured below, stating the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of this Trans Am.

This Trans Am comes with a wealth of original documentation including the factory build sheet, original window sticker, original owner's manual, Pontiac new vehicle inspection sheet, warranty book showing the original owner's name and the dealership that sold the car new, 1981 Pontiac consumer information booklet, 1981 GM maintenance schedule booklet, and the original Delco Am-FM stereo booklet.

As a side note, this Trans Am is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Pontiac, just give us a call.

condition

Exterior

The Cameo White exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has a beautiful gloss, terrific shine, and smooth finish. The decals are in excellent condition with no fading, cracking, or discoloration. The nose crest emblem is brand new and so are the front grills. The snowflake aluminum wheels are correct and original according to the window sticker and build sheet. They show no curb rash and have 4 new center caps. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are a few small spots on the top of the left front fender and on the right door with specific photos below; there may be some other small blemishes that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. The trunk is very solid and clean; it comes with the spare tire, lug wrench, jack, and trunk mat. We have specifically included photos below of the areas of the body most prone to rust as well as many photos of the underside. There has been some rust on the tail panel as one can see in the photos.

The Trans Am looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Window Date Codes

Please note that almost all of the the glass on this car is date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of this third week of June, 1981 (06C). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Driver's - JX - The "J" denotes May and the "X" denotes 1981 meaning the driver's side window was made in May of 1981. This is correct as it predates the body build date.

Passenger - IX - The "I" denotes June and the "X" denotes 1981 meaning the passenger side window was made in June of 1981. This is correct as it predates the body build date.

Rear - IX - The "I" denotes June and the "X" denotes 1981 meaning the rear window was made in June of 1981. This is correct as it predates the body build date.

Interior

The Medium Red cloth interior in this Trans Am looks wonderful. The seats are in excellent condition with no excessive wear, rips, stains, or seam splits. The original dash is in near perfect condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The engine turned dash bezel looks awesome. All gauges work as they should with with the obvious exception of the clock. The carpet looks good overall. It does have a few spots of wear in the front, but they are mostly covered by the floor mat. Both door panels look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition with no warping, sagging, or fading. The original radio works and most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. Please note in the video below how both seat belts operate and retract properly. This is a very common problem on this era "F-Body" and a small, but very important detail most buyers do not think to check. Firebird interiors from this era are not know to wear well and the excellent condition of this interior is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Trans Am seems to be in good mechanical condition. As stated above the car has a newer GM crate engine. As one would expect from a newer engine it starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. This Trans Am is an nice driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking, and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well, runs great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite well overall. The car shifts nicely and does not pop out of gear. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. Also, the engine is clean and highly detailed as one can see from the photos. The exterior lights, indicators, and wipers all work. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The speedometer, tachometer, odometer, oil pressure, fuel, and battery gauges all work as they should. The a/c system is complete and there is a belt on the compressor, but it does not blow cold so it may need to be recharged. The horn does not work. This Trans Am has good power and handles very well. As with most 1981 Trans Am's, the Check Engine light does not work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially on a beautiful day rowing through the gears with the T tops removed.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1981 Trans Am is in very nice driver condition. It is a great value and we have it priced to sell. This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector or the average enthusiast. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
