….

Please call Greg directly at 513-200-9226 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition Corvette in fantastic condition with only 13,585 original miles. This Silver Anniversary Edition looks fantastic, runs great, and is an excellent driver. It is totally solid with great lines. The Corvette is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of RPO B2Z Silver Anniversary Two Tone Silver (13) over Dark Gray (07) with Oyster Leather (122) interior. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag pictured in this ad.

We have driven this Corvette about 50 miles since we purchased it. During that time it was completely reliable with no issues and a true pleasure to drive.

This is an excellent opportunity to own a wonderful classic special edition Corvette with very low miles that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in the years to come as the market on C3 Corvette is hot right now and on the rise, this is especially true for the Silver Anniversary Edition. The low original mileage is supported not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as, "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and information to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.

Besides the correct paint and trim codes this Corvette is completely "Numbers Matching" and virtually every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on literally hundreds of Corvettes over the years and there are very few that are so correct and original. Even very detailed parts like the starter, distributor, carburetor, and even all the glass is all correct and original. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.

This Silver Anniversary Corvette is absolutely loaded with highly desirable original options such as the YJ8 aluminum wheels, air conditioning, tilt/telescopic steering column, sport mirrors, power windows, power locks, power antenna, and the 25th Anniversary paint scheme.

Please note that all 1978 Corvettes wore the "25th Anniversary" badge. However, only certain cars, such as this example, were the actual Silver Anniversary Editions with the Silver Anniversary regular production order (RPO), "B2Z." This is verified by the trim tag that is pictured in this ad showing the paint to be 13 for the bright Silver upper sections and 07 for the Dark Gray lower section, which was only used in 1978 and only for the B2Z Corvettes, on the darker lower portion.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Two Tone Silver (13) and Charcoal (07) exterior is in great driver condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a terrific gloss, smooth finish, and deep shine. Both doors open and shut nicely. The original YJ8 aluminum wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The car still has the correct and original style Goodyear GT Radial tires. They have plenty of tread left, do not show any cracking or dry rot, and with the very low mileage, could even be the original tires the car was sold new with from the factory. There are no major scratches, scrapes, or other blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some very small imperfections that were too faint to show up in the photos, but noting that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Silver Anniversary Edition has no rust issues at all. As one can see in the many photos of the underside it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and there are no signs of corrosion around the windshield, which are the two most notorious areas for rust on a Corvette of this era.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL of the glass on this Corvette, both door windows the rear window, and the even the windshield are all original as each piece predates the car's body build date of July 18, 1978 (K18). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Interior

The Oyster interior in this Corvette is in outstanding and like new condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The seats look just as great in person as they do in the photos with rips, split seams, or excessive wear. The seat is not worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains or holes. The dash and console are in excellent condition with no cracks or sun fading. The original 8-Track stereo radio works well, gets good reception, and even the power antenna still works. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The door panels are in great shape and the door pulls are solid and intact. The original spare is still with the car and has never been used. The factory jack is also present stored correctly behind the passenger seat. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially with a very light color like Oyster, and the excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in great mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above we have put about 50 miles on this car with no issues at all. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles well. It drives terrifically and is smooth on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, braking to stoplight, going through some curves, and shifting through all the gears. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power band. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos, even the ignition shielding and catalytic converter are still in place.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indictors, dash lights, power locks, power antenna, and wipers. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. Even very detailed items that many buyers do not even know to look for work such as the interior delay light timer and the light by the spare tire. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The entire vacuum system for the headlights works with no binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. The complete operation of the headlights from both switches can be seen in the video. The a/c system is complete and there is a belt on the compressor, but does not blow very cold so it may need some Freon. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette is in amazing condition and is an excellent driver. Special and Anniversary Edition Corvettes always draw a premium over their standard Corvette counterparts. The originality, the very low miles, the high degree of numbers matching original components, the beautiful color combination, and the great overall condition make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. Numbers matching is very important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is extremely correct.

The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased drastically over the past years. This is especially true with the Silver Anniversary Editions in our experience. These cars have been catching up to the '78 Pace Cars in value and many people, myself included, prefer the Anniversary Edition over the Pace Car. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The Silver Anniversary Edition Corvettes are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
