Exterior

The Renaissance Red exterior is in great driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The Factory Chrome wheels are in excellent condition with no rash and a great finish. The 225/55R16 tires are almost new with plenty of tread left and no dry rot. All the moldings and trim are in amazing shape and show that the car was not left outside. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. The front bumper and driver side mirror have a small crack that is barely noticeable from about 5-10 feet away. This lexus was garage kept its whole life and has no rust issues whatsoever. As one can see in the photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath.

Interior

The Ivory leather interior in this SC400 is in amazing condition. The seats are in great driver condition and look as good in person as they do in the photos. The rear seats don't look like they have ever been sat in. The carpet is in like new condition with no holes or tears. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels are in good shape and the door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console are in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The jack and jack handle are still with the car. The original space saver spare and medkit is still with the car and has never been used. This Lexus has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Lexus interiors from this era are not known to wear well with rather thin/fragile leather, and the great condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Lexus SC is in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This SC has plenty of power and pulls great. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.

If you're familiar with the 1UZ drivetrain in the 400 models of the Lexus SC you know that they are amazing engines that will run forever. Since this particular SC is a 1999, it got the most revised version of the 1UZ engine with VVTi and slight compression bump, making them put out around 300hp. This engine was put on Ward's 10 best engines from 1998-2000 for its amazing reliability. There's many articles out there of the 400 series LS/SC equipped with the 1UZ making its way into the 6 digit odometer mark, and even some all the way to a million miles. 110,625 miles is nothing for this Lexus SC, and a lot of other toyota owners would tell you that it's just been broken in.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, power windows, and power locks. The sunroof functions great like it should. The power/heated seats work great, and the nakamichi stereo sounds fenomenal for a car of this era. All of the gauges work. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. A/C blows ice cold, as it should with an older japanese car. Everything works with the exception of the power trunk/boot lid. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1999 Lexus SC400 is in amazing condition. The low miles, the beautiful color combination, and the excellent overall condition make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. It is very hard to find a Lexus SC from this era that is still in great original condition as most were used and abused. This Lexus always gets a ton of attention anywhere you go, rarely do you see one in this condition. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of Lexus SCs have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
