Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation. They are all solid investments for a collector. This Corvette is ready to be used and enjoyed. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a clean and desirable mid year at an unbeatable value. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense of how clean and nice this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Red exterior is in nice driver condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The knock off wheels have a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note that these are true “knock off” wheels with a real spinner that is knocked on and knocked off to remove the wheels, they are not fake with covers and lug nuts. The white wall tires have area almost new and correctly sized 205/75R15. The soft top is in excellent shape and the rear window is not yellowed or foggy. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the many photos. There are some touch-ups, chips, light crazing, and other very tiny imperfections around the car that were too small to show up in the photos, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, this car is very clean underneath. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how this car looks.

Interior

The red interior in this Corvette is in fantastic condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no split seams, rips, or excessive wear. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The seat is not worn in the typical spot on the driver's bolster. The carpet is also in good condition with no stains, holes, or rips. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The dash and console look great with no cracks or sun fading. The door panels are in nice shape overall; there are no cracks in the typical spot where the driver's elbow sits. The door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console look great with no cracks or sun fading. The original radio works well and gets good reception. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes

Corvette interiors from this era, especially for a convertible, are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The transmission shifts smoothly throughout the power-band. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other, which is a very common issue with early C2 Corvettes. The car runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.

The radio works as do all the exterior lights, dash lights indicators, horn, wipers, and the blower for the heater on all speeds. The headlights work and go up and down properly, which is a very common problem on Mid Year Corvettes. The complete operation of the headlights can be viewed in the video. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. As with many older carbureted cars this Sting Ray is a bit cold blooded and there are some occasional rattles and clunks. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1964 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible is in great driver condition. Convertible examples in this year range are drawing a nice premium over a standard Corvette Coupe. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. Numbers matching is very important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, and engine assembly date. This Sting Ray is a great value and we have it priced to sell. Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are, and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid and wise investments for a collector. While this is not an NCRS Top Flight or Bloomington Gold car, it is a very nice driver quality Corvette and a great car for the money. The previous owner believed the mileage was original at 42,618 and that mileage seems appropriate for the condition and patina on the car, but due to previously being titled in a state that does not record mileage on classic cars the title now shows nonactual mileage. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
