This C5 Corvette is completely “turn key,” everything on the car works, and it needs nothing. I would not hesitate to hop in this car right now and drive across the country. The Torch Red (70) over Black Leather (193) color combination is highly desirable, truly striking, and looks great on this C5 body style. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the service sticker, which is pictured in this ad. Besides the beautiful color, this Corvette is absolutely loaded with sought-after options such as Heads Up Display (HUD), Z51 performance handling package, polished wheels, sport seats, memory package, dual zone automatic digital climate control, automatic transmission, and much much more.

This Corvette is a one-owner car that we received from the original owner. The car has never been in any kind of accident or had any kind of paint work. There is a copy of the AutoCheck vehicle history report in this ad, it shows no accidents, verifies the low mileage, and shows only one previous owner.

This Corvette convertible was purchased brand new by a prominent local attorney in Cincinnati, OH who has argued cases in front of the US Supreme Court. He is a hardcore car enthusiast with collection of over twenty cars. We actually received this 2001 Corvette and a 1982 Corvette Collector Edition from him. This car comes with excellent service history and absolutely meticulous service records. Please be sure to view the records, which are in the photos, to get a sense of the extreme level of care this car has received throughout the years. We have never seen such extensive and detailed service records on any car we have sold. He had a mechanic visit his collection weekly for maintenance on all his cars. The service records even show the tire pressure and fluid levels at monthly check-ups. Even though this car has only 18,950 miles and the Chevrolet recommended interval can be up to 10,000 between oil changes, this Corvette has had the oil changed seven times since it was new and has received 4 new battery including a new one in October of last year. Essentially, this car has received the absolute best maintenance for a vehicle that money could buy. It was always stored indoors. The only reason the pervious owner sold it was due to failing health.

The car comes with both original key fob remotes, two sets of keys, the original owners manual, books, and window sticker.

Exterior

The Torch Red exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and deep shine. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car exhibits great body panel fit overall. It has never been in any kind of accident. We have seen no paint lines, overspray or other signs of paintwork at all. The original polished aluminum wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note that these are the factory polished wheels, not the cheaper aftermarket chrome replacements the quickly pit and corrode. The soft top is in great shape with no holes or frayed edges. The Goodyear run flat tires are original and sized 245/45R17 in the front and 275/40R18 in the rear. This Corvette has always been stored indoors and even the underside this C5 is very clean underneath.

The car look just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Black Leather interior of the Corvette is in fantastic condition. The sport seats look great with no rips or split seams. The seats are not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in also in excellent condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The factory radio works and sounds great; most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an installation. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Corvette has received throughout its life.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Corvette is in wonderful mechanical condition. The LS1 engine starts right away every time, runs great, and idles smooth. The car drives magnificently and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds, it drives just as well as you would expect from a well maintained sports car with very low mileage. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The car is completely stock, has no modification, and it totally unmolested.

Every feature and option on this car works properly including the radio, the exterior lights, dash lights, power seats in all directions, power mirrors in all directions, horn, wipers, and indicators. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The a/c itself works and blows cold. All of the gauges work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the Z51 performance suspension and the top down on a beautiful day.

The car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 2001 Corvette Convertible looks fantastic and is in excellent driver condition. The one owner history, extensive and impressive service history, beautiful original color combination, excellent condition, and the very low original mileage make this C5 especially important and very hard to duplicate. The convertible body style draws a premium over the coupes. In my opinion and based on our experience the fifth generation C5 Corvettes from 1997-2004 are rising in value and are becoming classics. This is especially true for premium and low mileage examples like this C5. The value of these cars is going up and they are solid investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
