….

Please call Greg directly at 513-200-9226 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SL in excellent condition with only 77,485 original miles. It looks spectacular, runs great, and is an awesome driver. The market on the 560SL is absolutely red hot right now and this example is priced to sell. Lower mileage and original examples of the R107 Mercedes SL are difficult to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. 77,485 miles is low for a Mercedes from this era as they are built like tanks and can virtually run forever when properly maintained. The original mileage is also verified not only by the condition of the car, but also by the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as "Actual."

This Mercedes comes with a stack or receipts and records dating back to 1990 for maintenance and repairs over the years. These receipts total over $9,300 so this car has been very well maintained over the years. The car also comes with the original owner's manual, SL Top Operation book, and the climate control instruction card.

There is also a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report is totally clean, shows no accident history, and verifies the low mileage. I have personally put about 80 miles on this Mercedes. During that time the car was completely reliable with absolutely no issues and the car was a pleasure to drive.

This 560SL comes with both the soft-top and auxiliary hardtop. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mercedes that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Mercedes is finished in the absolutely beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Black Pearl Metallic (199) over Light Brown Java Leather interior (274) with a Black soft-top (740). This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the vehicle data tag. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information in this ad to get a true sense of clean and nice this 560SL really is.

As a side note, this Mercedes is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the 560SL, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Black Pearl Metallic exterior is in wonderful condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely; it has that solid Mercedes touch and feels like a vault door closing. The car exhibits very nice body panel fit overall. The chrome and other bright-work look very nice. The wheels are in great shape with no curb rash. The Continental tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 205/65R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a paint job with many years on it there are some small blemishes around that are too tiny so show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside, this 560SL is very clean underneath. We have also included specific photos of the rockers, lower front and rear quarter panels, and other areas on the car most prone to rust to show how nice it looks.

Starting in 1987 Mercedes put a sticker on each cars individual VIN number on all of the body panels at the factory during assembly. These original VIN stickers present on all the body parts we checked, the hood, trunk, both doors, both front fenders, both rear fenders, and both the front and rear bumper. This is another excellent sign of originally, no accident history, and no paint work. We have seen no paint lines, over-spray or other signs of paintwork at all.

Interior

The Light Brown Java Leather of the 560SL looks absolutely fantastic. The seats are in excellent condition and look just as good in person as they do in the photos with no tears or rips. The carpet looks great with no stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The original door panels look wonderful with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and intact. The Black (740) convertible soft-top is in good condition. The rear windows are clear with no yellowing and are not worn in the normal spot where the windows contact the top mechanism. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or sun fading. This car has never been smoked in; there is no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever and no burn marks. The left seat back is stuck. The trunk is very clean and nicely detailed with the original spare tire, and rim, jack.

The excellent condition of this all interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Mercedes has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This 560SL appears to be in very nice mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above I have personally driven this Mercedes about 80 miles with no issues at all. The engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to a stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that it runs great, there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. There are a over $9,400 in receipts for maintenance and other things to keep the car in tip top shape over the years so it seems very well sorted mechanically. Also, the engine bay is clean, nicely detailed, and correct as one can see from the photos.

Please note in the video the dash warning lights working correctly; they light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" lights that stay on. The horn works as do the fog lights, headlights, brights, turn signals, interior lights, indicators, dash gauges lights, wipers, power locks, and fan. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. The air conditioning may need some freon as it does not blow cold. This Mercedes has lots of power with the 5.6 liter V8 engine. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1987 560SL is in excellent condition and is a true bargain at our asking price. This car is a premium example. The beautiful original color combination, the low mileage, the presence of all the VIN tags on all the body panels, and excellent overall condition make this SL hard to duplicate. The market for the R107 body style SL Mercedes is very strong right now, particularly for the 560SL's and this would be a great example to own. This Mercedes is a great value and will only appreciate over time. Someone could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
