The market for 4th generation Super Sports is very hot right now, with the 2002 model year being the most desirable, and this example is one of the best on the market. This Camaro is basically just like a new car so it looks fantastic, runs awesome, everything works, and it is a true thrill to drive. This particular car is very rare as only 739 Camaro SS convertibles were produced for 2002 in Bright Red with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 6-Speed manual transmission is much more sought after and draws a great premium over the cars with an automatic.

There is a copy of the AutoCheck report in this ad. The report shows no accident history and verifies the very low original mileage. Please peruse all of the photos, video, the extensive list of option codes, and other information to get a true sense of clean and spectacular this SS really is. I have personally put about 30 miles on this Camaro. During that time the car was completely reliable with absolutely no issues and the car was a pleasure to drive.

This SS is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Bright Red (81) over Ebony Leather (192) interior. This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the data sticker pictured in this ad. Please notice the "WU8" RPO code, also on the data sticker, which verifies that this Camaro is an original and true Super Sport. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title pictured in this ad showing the mileage as "Actual."

Exterior

The Bright Red (81) exterior is in spectacular condition. As one can see in the photos, the paint has an excellent gloss, deep shine, and smooth glass-like finish. We have seen no paint lines, overspray or other signs of paintwork at all. Also, this car has never been in any type of accident. The AutoCheck report also shows no accident history, which was confirmed by the previous owner as well. The original SS wheels are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. A set of brand new BFGoodrich GForce C2 tires were just installed on the car in August of last year by the previous owner. The soft tops is in excellent condition with no rips, holes, or frayed edges. Often many Camaros will have particularly chipped up front ends; this car does not and even the low front spoiler is in great condition as one can see in the photos. Both bumpers are in very nice shape with no spider-webbing or flaking paint. As one would expect from a vehicle with such low mileage the underside is exceptionally clean as one can see in the many photos of the bottom of the car.

This Camaro SS looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Ebony Leather interior in this Super Sport looks outstanding. The seats look just as good in person as they do in the photos with no tears, rips, or excessive wear. The driver's seat is not worn in the typical spot on the bolster of the driver's seat where the driver gets in and out. The carpet also looks like new with no tears or holes. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels look excellent. This car has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes what-so-ever.
Camaro interiors from this time period are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this SS has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.

The trunk is clean, nicely detailed, and complete with the space saver spare, jack, and Top Boot covers. Please note that even the original bag for the top covers are still with the car and included in the sale.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Mechanical

This Camaro SS is in excellent mechanical condition. It is an amazing driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds; it runs and drives just like you would expect from a vehicle with only 25,125 miles. As stated above I have personally driven this SS about 30 miles with no issues at all. The car starts right away every time, idles smooth, and runs well. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the Camaro performs quite well overall. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. The shifter is tight, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels great. Also, the engine is clean, beautifully detailed, complete, correct, and original as one can see from the photos.

Everything on this car works properly and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Please note in the video that all of the warning lights work properly. They light up when the key is first turned on and then go off when the engine is started. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. The horn works as do the indicators, exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, power seats in all directions, and blower for the heater and a/c on all speeds. The air conditioning itself works and blows cold. The power top works well with no effort or binding in the mechanism. One can see the entire operation of the top going down and raising back up in the video. All of the gauges work. This Camaro SS has a ton of power and handles like it is on rails. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this vehicle, especially with 6-Speed manual transmission and the top down on a beautiful day.

This Super Sport runs and drives as well as it looks.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 2002 Camaro Z28 Super Sport (SS) is in excellent condition and a great value at our asking price. The market on for the fourth generation Camaro SS is very strong right now, particularly for the final model year 2002, and especially for a 6-speed convertible. It is especially strong for correct, original, and low mileage examples like this car. This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. Someone could easily enjoy this Super Sport Camaro for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price in the years to come with minimal effort.
