Virtually every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on literally hundreds of Corvettes over the years and there are very few that are so correct and original. Even very detailed parts like the distributor, carburetor, alternator, starter, and even all the windows are all date coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 449389, are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.
There is a wealth of records original documentation that comes with the car including the original window sticker, original owner's manual, warranty booklet showing the original owner's name, 1979 GM Maintenance Schedule Booklet, 1979 Chevrolet Consumer Information Booklet, Goodyear Tie Booklet, and some vintage photographs of the car. Additionally, there are many many receipts from over years for items like tires, battery, brakes, and other maintenance items. The receipts total over $5,000 so this car has been well cared for and well maintained. Also included are many copies of previous odometer statements, copies of previous titles including the original title from 1979, and even a copy of the original Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. Many of these items have the mileage recorded at the time and everything shows correct mileage and verifies that this car has only 26,490 original miles.

One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 Corvettes is very hot right now and on the rise. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as Actual. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense of how clean and nice this Corvette really is.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand-pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Black (19) exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. We have seen no paint lines, overspray, or any other signs of paintwork or repair and we believe that this car has original paint. Both doors open and shut nicely. The aluminum wheels have an amazing finish and look great on the car. The previous owner went to great effort and great expense to install the correct and original style raised white letter Goodyear PolySteel Radials. The tires cost over $1,800. These are the same exact model tire that was installed on 1979 Corvettes new. The tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 225/70R15. Included also are the actual original tires for the car if the future owner wants them. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the many photos. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and there is no evidence of corrosion around the windshield frame or “birdcage.” We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.
Window Date Codes
Please note that ALL of the glass on this Corvette is date coded and original, both side windows, the rear window, and even the windshield all predate the car's body build date of August 24, 1979 (M24). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.
This car looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.
Interior
The Oyster Leather interior in this Corvette is in outstanding original condition. The seats look excellent with no rips, holes, or split seams. The seats are not overly worn in typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in great condition throughout. The dash and console look awesome with no cracks or sun fading. The door panels are in great shape overall. The door pulls are solid and intact. The original 8-track radio sounds good and the power antenna works as it should. Most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. Please note that both seat belts retract properly, this is a common problem that many buyers do not think to check, but is a very important item. The jack and jack handle are still with the car, stored correctly behind the passenger seat as seen in the photos. The original spare is also still with the car and has never been used. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes. The original T-Tops bags are also included with the car.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well over the years, especially for a light color like Oyster, and the excellent condition of this all original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives amazing on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The transmission feels very good and the shifter is super smooth. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. There is a receipt that shows stainless steel sleeved calipers were installed on the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.
The AM/FM 8-track radio works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, horn, wipers, rear window defroster, power locks, and power windows. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. Even very detailed items such as the key buzzer and interior delay light timer still work. The a/c also works and blows cold. One can observe the a/c compressor clicking on and engaging properly in the video. The headlights go up quickly and with no binding in the mechanism. Also, the headlights go up properly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be viewed in the video below. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1979 Corvette is in absolutely outstanding original condition. The low mileage, the beautiful color combination, and the excellent overall condition make this Corvette particularly desirable and very hard to duplicate. Numbers matching is very important in the Corvette market and in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. There are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, and engine assembly date as well as the transmission VIN stamp and assembly date. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, options, photos, and video. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, especially for an exceptional example like this car, and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare.
