I would not hesitate to hop in this car right now and drive across the country. The 6-Speed manual transmission is rarer in C5 Corvette. The manual transmission examples are highly desirable and draw a good premium over a standard an automatic transmission example. A convertible with a 6-speed is much more rare and the most prized combination for a 1999 Corvette. The Sebring Silver Metallic (13) over Black Leather (193) color combination is truly striking and looks great on this C5 body style. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the service sticker, which is pictured in this ad. Besides the beautiful color and 6-speed transmission, this Corvette is loaded with sought-after options such as sport seats, memory package, dual zone automatic digital climate control, and much much more.

There is a copy of the AutoCheck vehicle history report, which is pictured in this ad, it shows no accidents and verifies the low mileage. I have personally put over 50 miles on this C5 convertible recently. During that time the car was completely reliable with absolutely no issues and the car was a pleasure to drive.

Exterior

The Sebring Silver Metallic exterior is in excellent condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and deep shine. The wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The Cooper tires are literally brand new with less than 20 miles on them and are correctly sized 245/45R17 in the front and 275/40R18 in the rear. The soft top is in great shape with no holes or frayed edges. The top left corner of the window slightly catches the corner of the top, which is very common on C5 convertibles with original tops. This Corvette has always been stored indoors. Even the underside on this C5 is very clean as on can see in the many photos underneath the car.

Interior

The Black Leather interior of the Corvette is in outstanding condition. The sport seats look great with no rips or split seams. The seats are not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in also in excellent condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The factory radio works and sounds great; most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an installation. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Corvette has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. As stated above I have recently put about 50 miles on this car with no problems. The LS1 engine starts right away every time. The car drives magnificently and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds, it drives just as well as you would expect from a well maintained sports car with very low mileage. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The 6-speed shifter is tight, it does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. This Corvette has plenty of power and is very fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The car is completely stock besides the wheels, has no mechanical modifications, and it totally unmolested.

The power antenna works as do the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, fog lights, horn, wipers, indicators, and power antenna. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The a/c itself works and blows cold. All of the gauges work. The digital displays on the radio and climate control are not dim and none of the elements are burned out, which is a common problem on C5 Corvettes. The key fob remote has been a bit sporadic and the drivers power seat works, but the switch is finicky. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down and the 6-speed manual transmission on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1999 Corvette 6-speed Convertible looks fantastic and is in excellent driver condition. The convertible body style, manual transmission, beautiful original color combination, excellent condition, and the very low original mileage make this C5 especially important and very hard to duplicate. The title shows the mileage as actually, but there is an instance on the Carfax from years before when the car was serviced that showed higher miles, but believe this to be an error and the car has original mileage. The convertible body style, especially with the 6-speed, draws a great premium over the standard coupes and automatics. In my opinion and based on our experience the fifth generation C5 Corvettes from 1997-2004 are rising in value and are becoming classics. This is especially true for premium and low mileage examples like this C5. The value of these cars is going up and they are solid investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
