Seven Hills Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible in excellent condition with the highly desirable 5-speed manual transmission. This Mustang looks fantastic, runs well, and is an great driver. The Medium Cabernet (2H) over Medium grey interior (PG) is a beautiful color combination that looks great on the car. It is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the door tag, which is pictured in this ad. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Mustang GT that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on the Fox body Mustangs is strong right now and on the rise. Please peruse all the photos video, and other information to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and correct this Mustang GT Convertible really is.

As a side note, this Ford Mustang is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand-pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Mustang, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Medium Cabernet exterior is in wonderful driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The convertible top is in excellent condition with no rips, holes, or frayed edges. Please note that the car has the correct glass rear window, not the cheaper plastic replacements. The Hurricane wheels are in great condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 225/60R15. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There is a chip on the front bumper and some other very tiny imperfections that were too faint to show up in the pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Mustang has no rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath. We have included specific photos of the rear spring mounts, rockers, lower quarter panels, and the area's most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.

Interior

The Medium Grey cloth interior in this Mustang is in fantastic condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lens is crystal clear. The door panels are in excellent shape and the door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console are in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The seats look in person just as they do in the photos with a small spot of wear in the typical area the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is also in great condition with no holes or tears. The truck is clean and complete. The jack and jack handle are still with the car. The original space saver spare is still with the car. The convertible top boot and the storage bag are also still with the car, but we have not tried installing the boot. Both seat belts work and retract properly, this is a common problem and something many buyers do not think to check. This Mustang has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Mustang interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life,

Mechanical

This Mustang seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight, does not pop out of gear, and the transmission shifts smooth. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, wipers, power windows, and power locks. All of the gauges work. Even the trunk light works. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The a/c worked and blew cold when we got the car, but does not feel as cold now. The power convertible top also works. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the manual transmission and the top down on a beautiful day.

Also, for any 1989 Mustang you may look at, be sure to verify that the "check engine" and other dash warning lights are working correctly. The check engine light should go on when the key is turned on as a confirmation that the light is working, then quickly go off when the car is started. A great number of Mustangs from this era have had the warning light bulbs removed to mask other problems. As one can observe in the video the "check engine" light and other warning lights on this car operates just as it should, going on with the car as a check and then going off when started.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1989 Mustang GT is in magnificent driver condition. The beautiful original color combination, the 5-speed manual transmission, and the excellent overall condition make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. It is very hard to find a Mustang GT from this era that is still in great original condition as most were used, abused, and modified. This Mustang always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of and tastefully modified by its previous owners. The prices of Fox body Mustangs increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
