Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this beautiful 1979 Z28 Camaro in excellent condition with the highly desirable 4-speed manual transmission, T-Tops, air conditioning, and only 52,240 original miles. This Z28 is remarkably original, runs well, and drives great. The car has great lines and it totally solid. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic 4-speed Z28 Camaro at an absolutely unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as these F-Body's are appreciating fast and the market on them is red hot right now.

This Z28 is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Dark Brown (69) over Tan Cloth (62B). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag pictured in this ad. The very low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title that states the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information in this ad to get a true sense of clean, nice, and original this Z28 really is.

As a side note, this Z28 Camaro is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Camaro, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Dark Brown (69) exterior looks in person as it does in the photos. The factory rally wheels are great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. The raised white letter tires are literally brand new with less than five miles on them and are sized 225/70R15. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As would expect from a paintjob with this many years on it the paint is showing some age. As one can see in the many photos there is a chip on the left rear fender and cosmetic blemishes around the car. This car appears to be completely solid. Looking at the photos one car also see the underside of the car is very clean. We have included specific photos of the spring perches, rockers, lower quarter panels, and other areas most prone to rust on a second-generation Camaro to show how nice this car looks.

Window Date Codes

Please note that almost all of the glass on this Camaro, both pieces of door glass, the rear window, and even both T-Tops are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of the third week of March, 1979 (03C). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Driver's Window - XA - The "X" is February and the "A" is 1979 so this window is original, made in February of 1979. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Passenger Window - XA - The "X" is February and the "A" is 1979 so this window is original, made in February of 1979. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Rear Window - XA - The "X" is February and the "A" is 1979 so this window is original, made in February of 1979. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Driver's T-Top - TJ - The "T" is August and the "J" is 1978 so this T-Tops is original, made in August of 1978. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Passenger T-Top - CJ - The "C" is November and the "J" is 1978 so this T-Tops is original, made in November of 1978. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Interior

The Tan Cloth (62B) interior of the Z28 is in nice original condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The seats look just in person as they do in the photos with spots of wear. The seats are not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements The carpet is good condition with no rips or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The door panels are in good condition overall, but there is some wear on the chrome strips. The door pulls are solid and in tact. The dash has a crack as one can see in the photos. The package tray is in excellent shape and not warped or faded. The truck is nicely detailed and totally complete the original space saver spare, inflator bottle, jack, and jack base plate. The car has not been smoked in, there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Camaro interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a light color like tan, and the nice condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the care and attention this car has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Z28 seems to be in good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. This Camaro is a wonderful driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. This Camaro has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The wipers work as do the exterior lights, radio, fuel gauge, battery gauge, speedometer, tachometer, and the blower for the heater and air conditioning on all speeds. There are a few items on the car that do not work such as the power locks, horn, air conditioning, and temp gauge. There may be other bugs to be worked out so we would encourage any perspective buyer to look at the car in person if possible. The radio does not work. The car now has a true dual exhaust system with no catalytic converter and a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the 4-speed manual transmission and the T-Tops out on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1979 Z28 Camaro is in great original condition. The originality, the manual transmission, the T-Tops, the beautiful original color combination, and the very low original mileage make this car particularly important and hard to duplicate. Low mileage and original examples of the second generation Camaros are hard to find and draw a huge premium in the current market, this is especially true for the more desirable examples with the 4-speed and T-Tops. We have the car priced to sell with its needs in mind. The paint is a bit weathered, but with a respray and the low miles this Camaro could be worth well over $30,000. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future.

This Camaro always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of second generation Camaros have increased drastically over the past years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
