We have recently driven this car over 70 miles. During that time the car was completely reliable, had no issues, and was a pleasure to drive.

This Miata is a one owner car. The original owner was very meticulous and kept detailed records throughout his ownership. There are dozens and dozens of original documents and receipts for maintenance and repairs over the years. The receipts, dating back to the early 1990's, total over $5,000 spent by the original owner so the car has been very very well maintained. The gentleman we bought the car from purchased it new from Mike Smith Mazda in Beaumont TX. Along with all the original manuals and books, we have the original temp tag, Odometer statement, and even the build sheet for the car. The original Tonneau cover and soft top cover are in amazing shape, pictured in the ad and included in the sale. There are also original Miata sales brochures that go with the car. The original hardtop is also in outstanding shape. The amazing condition, originality, and ample documentation on this Miata make it very hard to replicate.

Exterior

The British Racing Green exterior is in amazing condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a terrific gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. The OEM wheels are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no major curb rash. The Firestone tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 185/60R14. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some very tiny blemishes that were too small to show up in the pictures, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. The convertible top is in nice condition. It fits very tight, but goes up as one can see in the photos. This Miata has no rust issues. It is very clean underneath. This Miata has spent its whole life garaged by its one and only owner.

Interior

The Tan interior in this Miata is in spectacular condition. The seats are in great shape and look as good in person as they do in the photos with no, split seams, holes, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical spot on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is also in great condition with no holes or tears. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels are in excellent shape and the door pulls are solid and intact. The dash and console are in great condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage, the dash is a bit sticky like many other cars for the 1990's. This Miata has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

The truck is clean, nicely detailed, and complete with the jack, jack handle and the original space saver spare that has never been used.

Miata interiors from this era are not known to wear well, and the great condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life by it one owner and another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Miata seems to be in very good mechanical condition. As stated above we have recently driven this car over 70 miles with problems at all. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smoothly. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations or strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight and the transmission does not pop out of gear. The clutch feels good. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Miata has a good amount of power and sounds great. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, indicators, wipers, horn, radio, and power windows. All of the gauges work. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The air conditioning itself works and the air blows cold. There are no "check engine" or other warning lights that stay on. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1991 Mazda Miata is in magnificent original condition. The very low miles, the one owner history, the beautiful color combination, and the excellent overall condition make this car especially important and hard to duplicate. It is very hard to find an NA Miata from this era that is still in great original condition with low mileage as most were used and abused. This Miata always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owner. The prices of first gen Miata's have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
