….

Please call Matt directly at 513-708-1468 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this numbers matching 1982 Collector Edition Corvette in absolutely spectacular condition with only 31,785 original miles. The car looks beautiful, runs great, and drives awesome. The 1982 Collector Edition has been steadily increasing in value for the past few years and is an excellent investment. There is copy of the Autocheck report on this car pictured below. The report shows no accident history and verifies the very low original mileage.

The car is totally solid with nice lines and no rust issues. It is finished in the rare and highly desirable color combination of Silver Beige (59) over Silver Beige Leather (591), which are the correct codes for a Collector Edition. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag pictured in this ad. This Corvette is ready to be used and enjoyed. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 Corvettes is very hot right now and on the rise, especially for low mileage and premium examples like this Collector Edition.

Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory in Bowling Green in April, 1982. Virtually every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on literally hundreds of Corvettes over the years and there are very few that are so correct and original. Even very detailed parts like the distributor, injectors, starter, and even all of the glass including the T-Tops are all date coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 110812, are stamped on the engine pad and pictured in this ad and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.

We first purchased this car in 2019. We sold it to a gentleman in Columbus, OH that same year when the car had 31,330 miles. He took excellent care of the car, always stored it indoors, and only put less than 500 miles on it during his ownership. The original owner's manual, 1982 Chevrolet warranty booklet, and the original predelivery inspection sheet from 1982 are included with the car.

In addition to the Collector Edition package this Corvette is absolutely loaded with appealing options as one can see in the extensive list of RPO codes in this ad such as power locks, power windows, power seat, power mirrors, power antenna, rear window defogger, and tilt/telescopic steering wheel. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and original this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Model Description

This is an authentic and original Collector Edition Corvette verified by the special trim codes and special VIN code, both pictured below. A "0" in the sixth digit of the VIN is exclusive to Collector Editions.

The 1982 was not only the final year of the third generation Corvette, it was truly the end of an era. It was the last of the "Mako Shark" body style first introduced in 1968, which has become the most famous and recognizable Corvette design to date. First available in the 1981 Corvettes, a new weight saving and performance enhancing fiberglass leaf spring became standard on the rear suspension in all 1982 Corvettes. This model year marked the end of the most prolific era for Corvette and history will always hold a special place for the 1982 Corvette.

To honor the special in history that GM knew the 1982 Corvette would hold Chevrolet decided to release a special "Collector Edition." It differed from the normal Corvette in many ways. In addition to the higher level of standard features, the Collector Edition had a lifting frameless glass hatchback with remote release, special silver-beige paint, graduated hood and side body decals, commemorative aluminum wheels styled similarly to the 1967 "bolt on" optional wheels, accent pin striping, multi-tone silver-beige leather seats and door trim, leather wrapped steering wheel and horn cap, special exterior and interior emblems, and luxury carpeting were all exclusive to the Collector Edition and not available on the standard model. The 1982 Corvette Collector Edition was the first Corvette to have a base price over $20,000.00.

Exterior

The Silver Beige exterior is in gorgeous driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth glass-like finish. 1982 was the first year for full production out of the new factory in Bowing Green, KY. This means that this Corvette was one of the first to receive a true multistage base coat clear coat paintjob, which is why the late 1981 and all 1982 model years have held up so well over the years. Often many Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not. The underside of the front end, which is a very fragile and venerable area of the car, is in good condition as evidenced by the photos. Both doors open and shut nicely. The original Collector Edition turbine wheels are in great condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The Goodyear Eagle GT+4 raised white letter tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 255/60R15. There are no major scratches, scrapes, or other imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are very tiny blemishes that are too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. This Corvette has absolutely NO rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside this Corvette is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and we have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield, which are the two most notorious spots for rust on a C3 Corvette. We have included specific photos of the areas on the frame most prone to rust to show how clean it is.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL of the glass and windows on this Corvette, the windshield, rear hatch window, both door windows, and even both T-Tops, are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of the first week of April, 1982 (04A). Original glass is another great verification that this car has had no accident history and never sustained damage.

Interior

The Silver Beige Leather interior of the Corvette is in excellent condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are crystal clear. The seats look just as great in person as they do in the photos with no split seams, tears, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these are the original seats, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The carpet is also in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected and prone to sun damage. The carpet on the door panels is in good shape and not faded. All of the carpet in the car is also original. The door panels themselves are in good condition overall The door pulls are solid and in tact. The dash and center console look good with no fading or sun fading. There are a couple cracks on the dash visible in the photos. The original radio works well and gets good reception. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. Please note that both seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. The jack and jack handle are still present and stowed correctly in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. The spare is also still with the car and has never been used. This Collector Edition has never been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes at all.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The numbers matching L83 engine car starts right away every time and runs well. The car drives terrifically; it feels great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations, and the car performs quite well. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The car runs cool and does not overheat. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, correct, and original as one can see in the photos. The car has not been modified or molested and such items as the ignition shielding, original finned aluminum valve covers, original smog pump, emissions system, and catalytic converter are all still in place.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, wipers, power windows, both power mirrors in all four directions, and Check Engine light. Even very detailed items most buyer do not even think to check work, such as the glove box light, spare tire light, interior delay light timer, and key buzzer. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly with no binding. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be observed in the video below. The power seat works in five directions. The previous owner said that he had the a/c serviced last year, but it is now not blowing really cold so it may need some freon. The power locks do not work. The struts for the hatchback are included with the car, but not currently installed. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

Also, for any 1982 Corvette you may look at, be sure to verify that the "check engine" light is working correctly. The light should go on when the key is turned on as a confirmation that the light is working, then quickly go off when the car is started. A great number of these 1982 Corvettes have had the bulb removed to mask other problems. As one can observe in the video below the "check engine" light on this car operates just as it should, going on with the car as a check and then going off when started.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1982 Corvette Collector Edition is in amazing condition. Low mileage examples of Collector Edition Corvettes are rare to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. Numbers matching and originality is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very original and correct. The collector and anniversary edition Corvettes have always been even more collectible and desirable than their normal counterparts, which has definitely proven true for the 1982 Collector Edition. In our experience the 1982 Collector Edition in particular has been on the rise and has caught up to the iconic Pace Car Editions. The last model year of any body style Corvette always holds a premium.

The excellent condition, the desirable model, the originality, and the great extent to which the numbers match make this car especially important and difficult to duplicate. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased drastically over the past years, especially for premium examples like this car. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, options, photos, and video. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, especially for an exceptional example like this car, and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he or she makes a purchase.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
