Please call Matt directly at 513-708-1468 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful 1968 Corvette Convertible in excellent driver condition with a 4-speed manual transmission. This Corvette looks spectacular, runs great, and is an excellent driver; overall the car is exceptionally clean. It is finished in the beautiful color combination of Rally Red (974) over Red Vinyl (407) with a white soft top. This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad.

We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable classic Corvette convertible at an unbeatable value. The convertible Corvettes draw a nice premium over the standard coupe body style or the base motor cars. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise. Please peruse all of the photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Rally Red (974) exterior is in excellent driver quality condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and deep shine. The rally wheels and center caps are in great condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. Please note that this car still has the correct 4-clip style beauty rings, not the cheaper foreign made aftermarket replacements. The raised white letter tires were made during the 32nd week of 2021 so they are not old, have about 95% tread left, and are correctly sized 225/70R15. The soft top is in good condition with holes or frayed edges. The rear window is not yellowed. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some small imperfections visible in the photos like the spot on the wiper door molding and some that were too faint to show up in the photos, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. We have included many photos of the underside of the car. The frame appears to be structurally solid; it does have some scale inside the key hole in front of the rear tire. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how this car looks.

Interior

The Red Vinyl (407) interior of the Corvette is in fantastic condition. The seats are in excellent shape with no rips, holes, or split seams. The seat is not overly worn in the typical spot on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The door panels are in superb condition, there are no cracks in the typical spot where the driver's elbow sits. The carpet is also in great condition with no rips or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. This Corvette still has its original radio, but it will not turn on. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The dash is in nice shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The jack and jack handle are still with the car, stored correctly in the compartment behind the passenger seat. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible, and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the care and attention this Corvette has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in fine mechanical condition. The engine starts up right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. The car drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The manual brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well and does not pop out of gear or grind. The car has Hurst shifter that will contact the console. The clutch feels good. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos.

The horn works as do the exterior lights, dash lights, indicators, and blower for the heater on all speeds. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. The vacuum system for the headlights works properly. Please note that the vacuum system works properly from both the respective switches on the dash and the override switch under the steering column. The operation of the headlights can be seen in the video. The wiper door will try and go up with the override switch, but needs a hand. The wipers themselves work, but will only shut off when the car is turned off. The air vent control wheel is sticky. The top operates, it will go up and down and latch in place, but the fit overall is not perfect. The odometer does not work. Some of the fiber optics work. As one can hear in the video, this Corvette sounds absolutely awesome and has a very healthy exhaust note. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the top down on a beautiful day.

A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system, we consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable that runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own fiber optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing, does any work to the center console, or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable, that indicator no longer works. As one can imagine, over time this is very common.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1968 Corvette Convertible looks great, is in excellent driver condition, and is a true bargain at our asking price. The convertible body style, the manual transmission, and the iconic color combination make this Corvette extra desirable. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
