Please call Greg directly at 513-200-9226 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this numbers matching 1974 Corvette Stingray in great driver condition with only 86,699 original miles. The car is totally solid with nice lines and no rust issues. This Stingray is finished in the beautiful color combination of Classic White (10) over Dark Ox Blood (425). This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured in this ad. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Corvette Stingray that is ready to be used and enjoyed at a great value.

Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory in St. Louis in September of 1974. Even detailed parts like the carburetor, alternator, and even all of the glass is all date coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 434587, are stamped on the engine pad, pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.

The car is loaded with appealing options as one can see in the extensive list of RPO codes in this ad such as the tilt wheel, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and power windows. The car also comes with the T-Top bags, original owner's manual, and a 1974 Corvette assembly manual. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of RPO codes, and other information to get a true sense of this Corvette.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Classic white exterior is in driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a nice gloss. Both doors open and shut well. The original rally wheels look great with a brilliant finish. Please note that this car has the correct 4-clip style beauty rings, not the cheaper aftermarket replacements. The raised white letter tires have plenty of tread left and are sized 255/60R15. The paint isn't perfect and has checking throughout, some cracking, and the rear bumper finish is not perfect, but looks good from about ten feet away. This Corvette has no rust issues. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and we have seen no evidence of corrosion around the “birdcage” or windshield frame, which are the two most common spots for rust on a C3 Corvette. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL of the glass on this Corvette is date coded and original as each pieces predate the car's body build date of September 11th, 1974 (N11). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Windshield - UL - "U" is July and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in July of 1974. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Driver's Window - JL - "J" is May and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in May of 1974. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.

Passenger Window - JL - "J" is May and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in May of 1974. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car

Rear Window - JL - "J" is May and "L" is 1974 so this window is original, made in May of 1974. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car

Interior

The Dark Ox Blood interior in this Corvette is in excellent condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The seats are in great shape for their age with no split seams, holes, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical area on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in nice condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The dash and center console look great with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in good shape overall and both door pulls are solid and intact. The driver side door panel has some imperfections that can be seen in the photos. The original stereo radio works and gets good reception. Most importantly, the dash has never been modified or cut for an aftermarket installation. Please note that both seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. The jack and jack handle are still with the car, stored correctly behind the passenger seat. The spare is also still with the car. This Corvette has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the fantastic overall condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this Stingray has received throughout its life.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The numbers matching L48 engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smoothly. It drives amazing on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The transmission shifts smooth throughout the power band. The brakes are responsive and don't pull left or right. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast for its time. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, correct, and detailed as one can see in the photos. The original ignition shielding and air cleaner are still in place.

The radio works as do the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, wipers, horn, and power windows. All of the gauges work and even the clock runs. The air conditioning works and blows cold. The a/c compressor can be seen clicking on and engaging properly in the video. The vacuum system for the headlights works. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds except high. It is a pleasure to drive this Stingray, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1974 Corvette Stingray is in great driver condition. Numbers matching is very important in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. There are photos in this ad of the engine assembly date, suffix code, engine VIN stamp, transmission code, transmission date, and transmission VIN stamp. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price.

Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, option codes, photos, and video. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he or she makes a purchase.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
