Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this numbers matching 1975 Corvette Stingray in excellent driver condition. The car looks nice, runs well, and drives great as one can see in the video in this ad. The car is totally solid with nice lines and no rust issues. This Stingray is finished in the beautiful color combination of Bright Yellow (56) over Black Vinyl (19) interior. This is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag pictured in this ad. This would be a great opportunity to own a classic Corvette Stingray that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an excellent value.
Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory in St. Louis in February of 1975. Even detailed parts like the distributor, carburetor, and even all of the glass are all date coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 416876, are stamped on the engine pad, pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.
We purchased this car from a long term owner who purchased the car in 1992. He detailed and meticulous owner that kept detailed records over the years and the car comes with a huge stack of paperwork and a wealth of original documentation. There are dozens of copies of previous registrations and inspections over the years. There are also many receipts for repairs and maintenance dating back to the 1990's that total $9000 so the car has been very maintained.
The car also comes with an NCRS shipping data report, the original owner's manual, and a reproduction window sticker.
It is loaded with appealing options as one can see in the extensive list of RPO codes in this ad such as the tilt/tele wheel, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and power windows. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of RPO codes, and other information to get a true sense of this Corvette.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Bright Yellow (56) exterior is in good driver condition. As one can see in the photos the paint has a terrific gloss and deep shine. Both doors open and shut nicely. The rally wheels have a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note that this Stingray has the correct and original 4-clip style beauty rings, not the cheap aftermarket replacements. The raised white letter tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 225/70R15. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the many photos. There is one imperfection on the leading bottom edge of the driver's door that is visible in the photos; there are some small rock chips, touch-ups, and other faint imperfections around the car that were too small to show up in the photos, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five or ten feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean underneath and has absolutely NO RUST ISSUES. The frame is totally solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire and we have seen no evidence of corrosion around the windshield frame or “birdcage.” We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how nice this car looks.
Window Date Codes
Please note that almost all of the glass on this Corvette is date coded and original as most pieces predate the car's body build date of February 26th, 1975 (E26). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.
Interior
The Black Vinyl (19) interior in this Corvette is in outstanding condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The carpet looks to be original in great shape for its age with no major stains, rips, holes. The dash and console look great with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in fantastic condition and both door pulls are solid and intact. The seats are in excellent shape with no split seams, holes, or excessive wear. The seat is not overly worn in the typical spot on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. The seat belts extend and retract properly; this is a common problem on C3 Corvettes and an issue many buyers do not think to check. The jack and jack handle are still with the car, stored correctly in the compartment behind the passenger seat. The spare is also still with the car. This Corvette has never been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes.
Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The numbers matching L48 engine starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smoothly. It drives great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The transmission shifts very smooth throughout the power band. The brakes are responsive and do not pull left or right. The car runs cool and does not overheat. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast for its time. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos. The original upper ignition shielding and air cleaner are still in place.
The horn works as do the exterior lights, indicators, dash lights, power windows, wipers, radio, and blower on all speeds; even the key buzzer works. Detailed items like the “Head Lamps” light on the dash still work, it goes on when the headlight switch is pulled then goes off properly when the headlight buckets are completely raised to let the driver know they are up. The vacuum system for the headlights works correctly. Also, the headlights go up correctly with either the headlight switch or vacuum override switch. Their complete operation from both switches can be viewed in the video. The air conditioning does not blow cold, but there is a belt on the compressor and the system seems to be compete and intact. The car now has a true dual exhaust with no catalytic converter and a very healthy exhaust note as one can hear in the video. It is a pleasure to drive this Stingray, especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1975 Corvette Stingray is in fantastic driver condition. The long term ownership history, the great amount of documentation, the beautiful original color combination, the great extent to which the numbers match, and the excellent overall condition make this Corvette particularly desirable and very hard to duplicate. Numbers matching is very important in the Corvette market and in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is extremely correct. There are photos in this ad of the VIN stamp on the engine block, suffix code, and engine assembly date, transmission assembly date, transmission code, and transmission VIN stamp. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased considerably over the past several years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car is in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, options, photos, and video. As stated above, numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing, especially for an exceptional example like this car, and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he or she makes a purchase.
Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
As a licensed and registered dealer in The State of Ohio we are required to collect sales tax for residents of Ohio with a rate based on the buyer's county. Additionally, Ohio has a special sales tax relationship with buyers who are going to register their car in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, or South Carolina so we are also required to collect sales tax. Please keep in mind the you will not be paying additional tax and you will not be taxed twice. Buyers from those states will simply pay of portion of their sales tax to Ohio and they will then be credited with that amount when they transfer the title in their home state. Buyers from all other states will not owe any sales tax to The State of Ohio. For all buyers, including residents of Ohio, all other states, and all other countries, we are required to collect necessary paperwork and have the current title transferred in the buyer name and address. This process takes two days at the Ohio BMV and any buyer should expect to receive their title within 30 days of purchase, although it is usually closer to one week to receive the title once we receive the returned paperwork.
