Seven Hills Motorcars is tremendously proud to offer this absolutely stunning one owner 1973 Cadillac Coupe Deville with only 7,912 original miles. This Cadillac is in amazing condition, it looks beautiful, runs great, and drives awesome. This survivor Cadillac is a time capsule and an investment grade classic. The car has great lines and is totally solid; one can even see how good the car is underneath in the many photos of the car on a lift. This is an excellent opportunity to own an exceptionally rare classic Cadillac that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value.
This Cadillac is also known as a “El Clasico” made by the Michigan coachbuilder Wisco. The original sales invoice from Capital Cadillac in Atlanta, GA is included with the car. It shows the price of the car itself was $6,160.75. The “VIP package” from Wisco added an additional $7,281.75 to the price, more than the actual price of a 1973 Cadillac itself. Most of the cars were ordered for higher profile individuals such as Dock Ellis, and another was reportedly ordered for the Vice President of Mexico at the time. Very few of these cars exist today, in 2014 a 1975 Eldorado was offered by RM Sotheby's. In their description they claimed, “believed to be the only unrestored original “el Clasico” Cadillac in existence”. Other articles can be seen online showing other El Clasico cars such as an Eldorado Wagon and a Pontiac Grand Prix SSJ.
We have driven this car about 25 miles since we purchased it. During that time, it was completely reliable, had no problems, and was a true pleasure to drive.
This Cadillac is finished in the beautiful, highly desirable, and iconic color combination of Dynasty Red (72) over White Leather and Scarlet carpet (354) with a White vinyl top. This is the factory original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. This Cadillac has a build date of “11A,” which means it was produced during the first week of November in 1972. The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, that states the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information in this ad to get a true sense of how clean, nice, and original this Cadillac really is.
Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this DeVille is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory in November of 1972. The last six digits of the VIN, 149136, are stamped on the engine pad and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured in this ad.
We acquired this Cadillac from the original owner. This Coupe Deville was purchased from Capital Cadillac in Atlanta Georgia on December 6th, 1972. The car looks great, runs awesome, and is particularly fun to cruise around in. This is an excellent opportunity to own a special Cadillac that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as these classic Cadillacs are appreciating fast and the market on them is red hot right now. It would be very hard to find another 1973 Cadillac Deville in this amazing color combination, let alone one with such low original mileage, in such excellent condition.
This Coupe Deville comes with a wealth of original documentation such as the original window sticker, the original Georgia Title, Instalment contract, and invoice from Capital Cadillac. owner's manual, warranty booklet showing the original selling dealer and original owner's name, 1973 Cadillac Maintenance booklet, Emission information booklet, consumer information booklet, original key pouches, and emission information booklet. The original documents from when the car was sold new at the dealership support the history of the car as we were told.
As a side note, this Cadillac is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our classics come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Cadillac, just give us a call.
Exterior
The Dynasty Red (72) exterior is in excellent survivor condition. As one can see in the photos, the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and deep shine. Both of the massive and heavy doors open and shut nicely. The chrome and other bright work are in excellent condition with a brilliant finish and no pitting. The original hubcaps are in like new condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The wide whitewall tires have plenty of tread left and are sized L78-15. The whitewalls really compliment the white top/interior. Please note that these are older bias ply tires so they do not feel like modern radials out on the road. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. As one would expect from a paintjob with this many years on it there are some small spots in the paint, small cracks in the vinyl, a few small bubbles, and other faint imperfections, around car that were too tiny to show up in the photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside of the car, it is very clean and totally solid underneath. The floor pans are solid and all of the body panels and sheet metal are original from when the car left the dealership new. We have included specific photos of the lower quarter panels, rockers, frame, spring perches, and other areas most prone to rust on this generation Cadillac to show how clean this car is.
Window Date Codes
Please note that ALL of the glass on this Cadillac is date coded and original as every price where the date code is visible predates the car's body build date of the first week of November, 1972 (11A). Original glass is an excellent indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.
Windshield – YY – The first “Y” is the month, October, and the second “Y” is the year, 1972 so this window was made in October of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.
Driver's Window – GY – The “G” is the month, April, and the “Y” is the year, 1972 so this window was made in April of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.
Passenger Window – YY – The first “Y” is the month, October, and the second “Y” is the year, 1972 so this window was made in October of 1972. This is correct as it predates the build date of the car.
Interior
The White Leather and Scarlet (354) interior of the Coupe Deville is in absolutely outstanding condition. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The chrome and bright work on the inside of the car also looks wonderful. The carpet is in also in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The seats are in excellent shape with almost no wear, holes, or split seams. The seat is not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The dash and console are in excellent shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in great shape, the arm pad is not cracked on this car in the typical area where the driver's elbow sits, which is very common on this era Cadillac. Please note that the seat belts work and retract properly. This is a common problem on this era Cadillac and an issue many buyers do not think to check. The original radio turns on and lights up, but does not play sound. Most importantly, the dash has never been cut for an aftermarket installation. The power antenna works. This car has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all. This is one of the best original interiors we have ever seen in person in a classic Cadillac and is a true study of how these cars looked from the factory.
The trunk is also very clean, original, correct, and nicely detailed. Even the original cardboard liners are still in place and in great shape. The cardboard is very fragile and it is very rare to see them still in place. The truck is complete with the full-size spare, jack, and jack base. The original wood wedge is also in the trunk and still with the car. Please note that this car has a very unique spare tire with a very interesting whitewall pattern.
Cadillac interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a very light color like white, and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the extremely low original mileage. The interior looks just as fantastic in person as it does in the photos.
Mechanical
This Coupe Deville is in great original mechanical condition and it is ready to be enjoyed. As stated above, we have driven this car about 25 miles recently with no problems. The numbers matching 472ci engine runs well and idles smooth. The car is an nice driver that feels great on the road and floats down the highway. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 60mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. It runs cool and does not overheat. Also, the engine compartment is clean and correct as one can see in the photos. We intentionally left the engine compartment and underside natural and untouched; we did not paint or touch-up anything in order to keep the car completely natural.
The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, dash lights, indicators, wipers, power windows, power locks, and wipers. Even detailed items like the glove box light and key buzzer still work. The automatic seat back release works. The blower for the heater and a/c works on one speed, it is wired to an auxiliary switch located in the glovebox. The air conditioning itself does not blow cold. The power seat works on the driver's side, but not the passenger side. All of the gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge and clock. The car has started for us every time, but if it sits for an extended period of time it can be hard starting. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1973 Cadillac Coupe Deville is in amazing condition and truly an investment grade classic. This car is very rare and extra desirable with the extraordinary original condition, “El Clasico” package, and the beautiful and stunning color combination. Numbers matching and originality are very important in classic Cadillac pricing and as one can see this car is extremely correct. Low mileage and original examples of classic Cadillacs are hard to find and draw a huge premium in the current market. This Cadillac always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owner. The prices of Cadillac Coupe Devilles have increased dramatically over the past years, especially for premium examples like this car. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Other sellers are not taking the time to show the car in such great detail to give you all of the numbers, options, photos, and video. As stated above, numbers matching and originality is very important in classic car pricing, especially for an exceptional example like this car, and will become even more important as time passes and this car becomes older and even more rare. This information is very valuable and important for pricing. Any perspective buyer, for any of our vehicles or from other sellers, should ask for all the numbers and information before he or she makes a purchase

As a licensed and registered dealer in The State of Ohio we are required to collect sales tax for residents of Ohio with a rate based on the buyer's county. Additionally, Ohio has a special sales tax relationship with buyers who are going to register their car in Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, or South Carolina so we are also required to collect sales tax. Please keep in mind that you will not be paying additional tax and you will not be taxed twice. Buyers from those states will simply pay a portion of their sales tax to Ohio and they will then be credited with that amount when they transfer the title in their home state. Buyers from all other states will not owe any sales tax to The State of Ohio. For all buyers, including residents of Ohio, all other states, and all other countries, we are required to collect necessary paperwork and have the current title transferred in the buyer name and address. This process takes two days at the Ohio BMV and any buyer should expect to receive their title within 30 days of purchase, although it is usually closer to one week to receive the title once we receive the returned paperwork.
