Seven Hills Motorcars is glad to offer this very original and low mileage 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. This Cadillac runs and drives great with only 66,095 original miles. The car does have some cosmetic needs on the exterior and is priced with those needs in mind. The interior is very clean and in great condition. The car has a ton of potential and could be used and enjoyed as is while the future owner continues to improve the car. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Eldorado convertible at an unbeatable value.

The previous owner was an avid car collector and well known classic truck collector and restorer. We actually purchased four cars from him, a classic Mercedes convertible, a 1965 DeVille convertible, a Lincoln Town Car, and lastly this Eldorado convertible.

This Cadillac is finished in the beautiful, desirable, and rare color combination of Burnt Sienna Metallic (68) over Antique Light Sandalwood Leather (380) with a White soft-top. This is the factory original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad. The very low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title, pictured in this ad, that states the mileage as "Actual." Exterior

The Burnt Sienna Metallic (68) exterior is in excellent original condition. This Cadillac basically looks in person as it does in the photos. The chrome and other bright work is in nice condition overall with a nice shine and no major pitting. The original hubcaps are in great condition with a nice finish. The tires have plenty of tread left and are correctly sized 235/75R15. The original convertible top has some small rips and frayed edges. It also still has the correct glass rear window, which is date coded and original. Often times these rear windows are replaced with a cheaper plastic version. The paint and all the body panels are most likely original and do show some age. There is also some rust on the lower portions of the car. The exterior obviously could be improved, but with some paint and bodywork this car would be a very nice and highly regarded classic.

Window Date Codes

Driver's Front Window – YY – The first “Y” indicates October and the second “Y” indicates 1972 so this window is original, made in October of 1972.

Driver's Rear Window – IY – The “I” indicates June and the “Y” indicates 1972 so this window is original, made in June of 1972.

Passenger Front Window – YY – The first “Y” indicates October and the second “Y” indicates 1972 so this window is original, made in October of 1972.

Passenger Rear Window – YY – The first “Y” indicates October and the second “Y” indicates 1972 so this window is original, made in October of 1972.

Rear Convertible Top Window – TY – The “I” indicates August and the “Y” indicates 1972 so this window is original, made in August of 1972.

Please note that almost all of the glass on this Eldorado, both door windows, both rear windows, and even the glass in the convertible soft-top, are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of the third week of October, 1972 (10C). Original glass is another great verification that this car has had no accident history and never sustained damage.

Interior

The Antique Light Sandalwood Leather (380) interior of the DeVille is in excellent original condition. The seats are in great shape with no excessive wear, holes, or split seams. The seats are not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The gauge faces are crisp and clean and the lenses are clear. The carpet is in also in great condition with no rips or holes. The car also still has the original Sandalwood rubber floor mat. The original radio works and most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The door panels are in excellent shape overall. The arm rest pads on the door panel are not cracked, which is a very common problem on this era Cadillac. This car has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all. The convertible top boot is also included with the car.

Cadillac interiors from this era are not known to wear well, especially for a convertible model, and the excellent condition of this original interior is another great verification of the very low original mileage.

The trunk also looks good and is complete with the spare tire, jack, jack base, lug wench/jack handle, and bumper hook.

Mechanical

This Cadillac Eldorado seems to be in good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. The car is a very nice driver that feels great on the road and floats down the highway. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts well throughout the power band. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. Also, the engine compartment is clean, detailed, and correct as one can see in the photos.

The wipers work as do all the exterior lights, dash lights, wipers, radio, and even the little indicator lights about the rear seat that monitor the rear lights still work. All of the gauges work. The power seat works in some directions. The blower works, but the a/c does not blow cold; the horn and power antenna do not work. There may be some other bugs to be worked out so we would encourage any perspective buyer to view the car in person if possible. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with top down on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1973 Cadillac Eldorado convertible is in very original and unmolested condition with a ton of potential. Low mileage and original examples of classic Cadillac's are hard to find and draw a premium in the current market. This Cadillac always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. The prices of Cadillac convertibles have increased drastically over the past years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years while continuing to improve it and sell it for more than the purchase price.
