#'s Match, FRAME OFF RESTORED, Stunning Condition, Red/Black, 4-Speed

….

Please call Matt directly at 513-708-1468 with any questions about this car.

Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this spectacular frame off restored and completely numbers matching 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe in absolutely beautiful condition. It looks amazing in Rally Red, runs great, and is an excellent driver that is ready to be enjoyed. This Corvette is “turn key” and needs nothing. It is priced to sell, always turns heads, and gets a TON of attention going down the road. The car is finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Rally Red over Black Vinyl. Please peruse all of the photos, numbers, video, and information below to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and striking this Corvette really is.

I have personally put over 50 miles on this Sting Ray recently. The car was flawlessly reliable with absolutely no issues at all and was a true pleasure to drive. This Corvette comes with a wealth of records for the restoration, service, and maintenance over the years that are pictured below. There are dozens and dozens of receipts that total over $20,000.

This Corvette is "Numbers Matching" and almost every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on literally hundreds of Corvettes over the years and there are very few that are so correct and original, this is especially true for a second generation, “mid year,” example. Even very detailed parts like the starter, alternator, and even the expansion tank are all correct and original. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.

Everything works, all the features operate properly, and this Corvette is ready to be used and enjoyed. We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable Corvette at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C2 Corvettes is very hot right now and on the rise, especially for low mileage and exceptional examples like this car.

The low original mileage is verified not only by the condition of the car, but also the clear Ohio title showing the mileage as "Actual." Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and original this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Rally Red exterior is in fantastic condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has a dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth finish. Both doors open and shut nicely and the car exhibits very nice body panel fit overall. The wheels and correct 1966 hubcaps are in excellent condition with a nice finish and no curb rash. The BF Goodrich Redline Radial tires are a great compliment to the red paint and are correctly sized 205/75R15 with 95% tread left. There are some very tiny blemishes in the paint around the car that were too faint to show up in photos, but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. The car has absolutely no rust issues at all. The frame and everything else on the car is completely solid. The bottom of the car is very correct and highly detailed. I encourage you to closely inspect the many underside photos to see how truly clean the car is.

Window Date Codes

Please note that almost all the glass on this car, the windshield, door glass, rear glass, and even both vent windows are date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of January 25, 1966 (E25). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

This Corvette looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

Interior

The Black interior of the Corvette is in outstanding condition. The seats look almost new with no holes, splits, or excessive wear. They are not worn in the typical area where the driver gets in and out. The carpet is in great condition with no stains, rips, or holes. The chrome and other brightwork inside the car has a terrific finish and looks great. The gauge faces are nice and clean and the lenses are crisp and clear. The original AM-FM radio sounds great, most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The power antenna works well. The door panels are in great condition, fit to the door well, the door pulls are solid, and there no cracks on the arm pad. The dash and console are in nice condition overall with no fading or sun damage, there is one very tiny hairline crack, but as one can see in the photos it is hardly noticeable. The jack and jack handle are still with the car, stored correctly in the storage area behind the seats. The spare is still with the car. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes at all.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the very low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. As stated above I have personally driven the car over 50 miles recently with no problem at all. Virtually everything on the car has been restored and rebuilt, including the engine and full suspension. There are receipts in the extensive documentation for the engine rebuild.

The car starts right away every time, runs well, and idles smooth. It drives great on the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight and precise, it does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. The car runs cool and does not overheat. There is no blue smoke when starting or driving the car. The gauge shows that the engine makes great oil pressure. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, correct and complete as one can see in the photos. Even the ignition shielding and original valve covers are still in place.

The horn works as do all the exterior lights, interior lights, radio, indicators, power antenna, and wipers. This Corvette came equipped with power steering, which is a huge benefit when parking or driving at low speeds; it makes this car much easier and more pleasurable to drive. The modern Red Line radial tires also greatly improve the driving experience while maintaining a vintage look. All of the gauges work and the clock runs sporadically. The fan for the heater works on all speeds. The dash lights work as one can see in the video. The headlights and brights work and the lights come up, which is a very common problem on C2 Corvettes. One can observe the lights being raised and lowered in the video. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with 4-speed transmission..

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1966 Corvette is in excellent condition. Numbers matching is very important in the Corvette market and in Corvette pricing and as one can see this car is very correct. We have this Corvette priced to sell. Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are, and will continue to be, the most collectable and desirable Corvette generation. Of the mid-years the 1965-67 models always draw a premium and drive so much better due to the 4 wheel disk brakes and better driving experience. The value of these cars has gone up in recent years. They are secure and wise investments for a collector. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road and is ready to be enjoyed. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.

Thank you for looking and please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions.
